How is reincarnation handled now?
Is there a penalty to xp? How severe is it?
Among all the new threads, I can seem to find this info (assuming some exists).

Unless it has changed, this is a table of the XP loss. It scales from 12.5 to 125 million, decreasing from 20% to 1%. XP(m) - XP loss% - XP loss(m) 12.5 - 20.0% - 2.5 25 - 17.9% - 4.5 37.5 - 15.8% - 5.9 50 - 13.7% - 6.8 62.5 - 11.6% - 7.2 75 - 9.4% - 7.1 87.5 - 7.3% - 6.4 100 - 5.2% - 5.2 112 - 3.1% - 3.5 125 - 1.0% - 1.3 This is the equation to tell you how much XP you will lose at a given XP level. The reincarnation penalty continues to diminish. These are the checks it goes through after compensating for old and new xp penalties based on race and multiclassing:

nXP = 1000000;
if (nXP > 12500000) {
int nPen = 20 - ((nXP - 12500000) / 5625000);
if (nPen > 1)
nXP -= (nXP / 100) * nPen;

nXP -= (nXP / 100);

I've been reincarnating lately with same cc, nearly identical builds (just feats switched up) with 0 pen. Can't say I understand the above formula but 0% penalty works for me.

erm i don't suppose you could convert that to an "XP penalty for dummies"? as that sequence is beyond my understanding.
would a few examples be possible?
also could this be added to the first post in the reinc FAQ?

And at 126,250,000 (and up) you get set back to 125,000,000.

My initial table (which someone reposted last week) was based on an estimate of % decreasing. The below table is based on funky's formula. I only post this because arek's table doesn't clearly show the actually amount of XP that you lose. This peaks at about 7m in the 60's...a nice parabolic curve. Basically reinc'ing between 20 and 100m xp hurts a LOT.

The current code (posted above by funky) basically shows that all XP over 125m is just reset down to 125m. So if you have 125m+1, then you lose 1 xp, if you have 150m then you lose 25m.

The simple single line equation for XP loss is

Actually, that last bit means that, AFTER applying penalties, if you have > 125M XP, it gets reset to 125M. The 1% penalty is applied before the check.
