First, a warning:ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS BEFORE TRYING ANYTHING LIKE THIS!
I've been working on a simple batch file to make multi-boxing easier. I saw quite a few posts at one time asking how to set it up, and this was my solution. It came from my wife and I sharing a PC, she playing while I was at work, and me playing when I came home.
It does take a bit of setup, but still very simple...only using batch files to minimize the effect on the already drained resources of a multi-boxing PC.
First, make a copy of your nwncdkey.ini and name it myplayername.cdkey ...so in my case, hackenslay.cdkey
Make a copy of your nwnplayer.ini and name it myplayername.ini ...so in my case hackenslay.ini
If you are playing with 2 separate playernames(the only reason to consider using this) do the same with the other player names...for example hestia.cdkey(with the cdkeys associated with that account) and hestia.ini
I should point out that in each of the playername.ini files after the first, you should add one to the ClientPort number in the [Profiles] section...i.e first playername.ini should be 5120, second 5121, third 5122, and so on. Do this whether or not you dual-box, it won't hurt anything if you don't but it will save alot of trouble later if you decide to.
hackenslay.bat
Then for your next batch files for the other playernames, just copy this as a template and change the word "hackenslay" to your playername(i recommend using"replace all" even tho there are only 3 places it is used in each file...i guess it's just as easy to just type it in all 3 places), and the name of the batch file to myplayername.bat
For example, this is my wife's:
hestia.bat
Only 3 differences between the files besides the name...notice that the file name and the playername match
let me know what you think...just ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS BEFORE TRYING ANYTHING LIKE THIS!
