You take Blooded at level 1 because that is the ONLY level at which you can take Blooded.
Once you get LSA Tumble at level 42 and do a Tumble dump at level 43 you will find your AC suddenly takes a huge jump because Tumble actually increases AC. My question is why would you NOT want that?

Honestly I have built only 5 "real" casters so far, none of which needed LSA: Tumble.
1. PM has bazillions of skill points and class bonus to AC. His AC is around 116 (118 with girding), but that is hardly an issue, because should he equip a BUR large shield (Benediction, Bastion of Cormyr...) instead of torch, AC would jump to 133 (135 with girding). Crit immunity, long distance from mobs, GV, and... loving party take care of me well
2. Wizard relies more on 80ish conceal, premo and buffs overal rather than AC. And with high int he can afford 6 AC from Tumble cross-class (or even 12, if elven loot mage).
3. Druid gets monk splash at 40, usage of shields and portion of wis AC. That makes his AC 130s - 140s.
4. Bard has Tumble as class skill. In addition to possibly shield variant for high AC (immunities, goodies) and high conceal.
5. Turner, oh well. Gate provides nice bump to survavility. When stuff is turned, it does not usually beat on you. When you can neither cast good Gate or turn, something might be wrong with the build.
These above are my experience, not knowing much about other casters, but... I doubt I would take LSA: Tumble on any, where casters have sooo much to chose from (Blooded exchanged for a metamagic and LSA for LSF, Greater Stat or whatever). If more tumble checks come out, I will play my casters as I do now: recklessly offensively, caring little for AC (or even saves), hiding behind meatshi... tanks I mean

Wouldn't ever think of using it on a standard caster build (completely different for some of the caster Quasiclasses though). 4-6 ac boost (depending on how much tumble you managed to fit in 1-40) is not enough benefit to burn two feats on a feat tight build and one thing most casters are crying for its more feats.
