Without further notice:
Half-Brachina (no race requirement) -2 str., +2 dex., +4 con., +5 int., +5 wis., -2 cha.
Spell Penetration, Greater Spell Penetration, Spell focus (x)
No change in appearance. I don't know if there are any plans on a BUR theurge race, so I came up with my own. I'm not sure about which spell focus they should get, any ideas?

Not trying to put down your idea or anything, but theurge needs something that can have +6 wisdom or +6 int, if you have only +5, you still have the same DC from stargazer.

theres a nice appearance ive been thinking of suggesting as a theurge subrace:
Jackal Guardian STR -2, DEX -2, CON -2, INT +6, WIS +6, spell focus divination, spell focus illusion, spell focus necromancy

I think Khan's idea is better, cutting down str/dex/con is a big enough loss to justify the 2x +6.

I know some of the DM's were tossing around the idea of a "Drow Noble" BUR race for Theurge...
+6 INT +4 Wis if Male +4 INT +6 Wis if Female iirc
Not sure if the idea got nixed or if it's still being considered or ??

2x +6 is huge though... and howler gets x2 -3 to counter it
and as to Drown Noble race, another idea that found its way into my mind was a BUR upgrade item (tiamat blood - bur set loot drop) that could only be used by a character with an open, secret or UR subrace and would then essentially enhance that character as if the subrace were of BUR quality

I would prefer the Protean race thats been sugested for a bur theurge race, then all Theurges would be very unique, and allows the person to choose their spell focus instead of the standard you set might float everyones boat

Protean would only be a rare drop on one of the bosses from the Elder Evil, so it may be a long time coming.
In general, I agree that +6/+6 for int/wis is a huge bonus, no matter what the penalties are, specially if you are still going to include the bur caster subby bonus feats (SF/GSF or SP/GSP)
+6/+4 to main/secondary would in fact be more than enough. Even +6/+2 to primary/secondary would be more than enough. Or maybe make two bur subbies, one for arcane and other for divine theurge, if that is easier.
Take care Kaezar

Chosen of Mystra Any race, Int +2, Wis +6, Cha +2, Spell Penetration, Greater Spell Penetration, SR 10%+1%/lvl, Great fortitude. Once generated, the PC scry can be used *once* to give the character a +4 to int, -4 to wis, thus inverting the bonus to those ability scores. The reference to the chosen of mystra on FR can be found hereAs alternatives, the extra +2 bonus may be moved to dex or con, it is just most chosen mentioned seem to be high-charisma types. Take care Kaezar

Love the idea, hate the name. Chosen on Mystra are near immortal, uber spell casters with incredible special powers granted to them by Mystra (such as the "Silver Fire") Azuth (or Savras if you wanna go with the cannon that Azuth is dead), if one insist on keeping it as a "chosen" of a god. That would make a better choice since there is no preconceived ideas as to what a chosen on those two are. No, Magister is something unto itself and not a chosen. Sorry, my 2 cents being an old PnP player myself
