was asked to make this a new thread so here it is. something for you to think on within your own ranks. This will start with a story you well know about but may end with some info you really should know as well. Soooo hippy has problem with ER... really I could care less (and I doubt anyone at ER does either) and he dropped out of a desert run that had a few discovery in it cause there were too many ER in party (which was a shot at me since I was the only ER there) I mention it to my guildies on another run later, and someone mentions that he got cheesed off because a fellow ER didn't want to join in a hell run that hippy was in. Now here is where is starts to affect Discovery as a whole. Hippy then shouts (!runmsg) a hell run saying all welcome but ER. Do we really want to go down this road? D and ER have forever had a good relationship and to let it get tainted because he is not quite grown up enough to handle that one ER person (probably more but for this story just one) does not care to run with him so he holds it against all ER? I am no big hippy fan, but with all of his 'history' before joining Discover, and I still had no problems going on runs with him. But now I don't want to run with him again, (congratulations that is a personal black list of 2 and you got on it) and I didn't have any problems with him at all until this happened. I hope this can be resolved in house, and can end here. I have no screenies, but then again no rules have been broken, but the civility that has always existed between our guilds has. If hippy does not want to run with ER then he should quietly keep it to himself and just not join said runs, as others have done to him. If he continues to feel the need to 'runmsg' non-ER runs... well I don't care to think on that too much. But I do know that if an ER shouted 'tiamat all class welcome but no discovery guild' runs, me and that guildy would have some words, and if no action was taken against him/her I might be prompted to go so far as leave ER because that behavior is not something I would want to be associated with. I guess the rest is up to you. This happened about 3 days ago and it took me that long to 'chew' on it before I could decide what to do. And mainly I am telling you because if it was ER doing it I sure as heck would want to know... toodles

Star,
Thanks for the info. I have no problems with you all and have gotten along well with ER in the past and look forward to doing so in the future.
This is something obviously not representative of other Guild Discovery members and don't want it reflecting poorly on us collectively.

hi there ) well first of all let it be said that my guild may or may not be related to this, and i never acted on behalf of my guild. on teh contrary, i have a very personal history with ER and am not one to jump to any conclusions about a guild that i have never known very well without a great deal of chewing. i have 2 problems with ers 1. all my runs that were started by er members included either very childish and ill-mannered behaviour towards me personaly. not my char as a mage, or insulting behaviour towards me as a player. i therefore conclude that your guild, star, dislikes me and will have nothing of me on their runs . 2. secondly, a point about crashing. i dont usually crash much anymore, with my system upgreded and the anim fix, i dont actually crash at all anymore. now some occasions do make me crash, and these ALWAYS involved ER players in one way or the other. you may say that there is no proof for this statement. well you would be right. but my evidence if of statistical nature and i am personaly convinced that soem of you guys make use of hacking tools or some such tricky business to get rid of players that really make you mad. you just kick them. *splat* i may be right or i may be wrong, but my experiences have made me keep my furtheset possible distance from any runs with er members on them and there you have it. lastly, let me add that this has nothing to do with anyone personaly, i am just adding up my statistical evidence. mike

hi there ) well first of all let it be said that my guild may or may not be related to this, and i never acted on behalf of my guild. Something that you, and quite a few of our younger players, don't seem to realize, is that associations with groups reflect on the individual, and a member's actions reflect on the group, both in cyberspace and in real life. Since mikekolba's post clearly reflects and understanding of this basic fact, I'm a bit suprised that he didn't manage to convey it to you. Funky

Well, we did try to intercept him in game and in our own forums...to no avail. This is the first we've heard from Hippy on the matter.
Please let me emphasize that we (Guild D) as a whole had nothing to do with this and we would appreciate it if it would be understood as such. We have no issues (and I personally enjoy my runs with them) with ER and don't want to start now over something such as this.
Thanks ^_^ -Stryker

You did have a history here in the forums some time ago. However, if anybody is acting childish to you, feel free to report the behavior to either Phalthallus, guild leader of ER, or Bort/ToDefyTheLawsOfTradition, or myself, who assist Phalthallus in his duties. We expect reasonable behavior from our guild members. No offense, but this is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Not only is ER quite large (so your chances of running with them, unless you're purposefully avoiding them, are not little), but from a tech standpoint, this would be an extremely difficult, and not to mention probably ILLEGAL thing to do. You are connected to the HG servers, NOT other players. If any of these player-crashing tools existed, it would crash not only you, but the rest of the party (and possibly the server) as well. Your suspicions are unfounded. Statistical evidence goes more in-depth than just observing a correlation. You might observe that Bill Gates is getting richer, while worldwide temperatures are rising as well. Obviously bankrupting him will not plunge us into an ice age. Again, if you have issues with ER, please contact one of us three and we will attempt to work something out.

hi
i might just repeat that my personal affinites have little or nothing to do with the guild in that matter, state that i certainly support Bill Gates even though i have no immediate interest in him sitting on my dining table and explain that my personal affinities are possibly influenced by emotions and/or subjective reasoning, while being positively leading in their influence on my immediate actions. and add that 100 times out of 100 they have been unpleasant experiences of playing together with er members on my team, makes it a statistical necessity to conclude that i dislike playing with them .

I can see you're not willing to discuss the issue. Very well, if you dislike playing with us, we won't force you to, of course.

1) I'm sorry that you have had some issue with some of our members and (as Dod said) I urge you to mention any specific incidences to Phal, Dod or myself so that we may resolve them (I am personally unaware of anyone in the guild having any beef with you).
2) The suggestion that we utilize 'hacking tools' to rid people of our parties is laughable and of course, completely untrue. One our guild's central philosophies is to help people on the server and i've found my fellow members of ER to be some of the warmest, easy going, friendly and genuine people i've met on the server (hence my still being in the guild). I don't know where that idea came from, but as Dod said - completely unfounded.
Despite your comments I still can't imagine what possessed you to shout a run stating "everyone welcome apart from ER" but I personally find that to be unnecessarily provocative and tactless behavior, and not the sort I expect from anyone on HG (whether they want ER in their party or not).

A point to consider..
It's one thing to say xxx isn't invited. It's another thing to say guild XXX is not invited, while using a player tagged guild YYYY. Even if you post disclaimers later, the moment you involve a GUILD while GUILDED, you have just pulled everyone from your own guild into a matter.

..... and add that 100 times out of 100 they have been unpleasant experiences of playing together with er members on my team, makes it a statistical necessity to conclude that i dislike playing with them . mike please please please please please please please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLLLEEEAASSEEE think before you post. I HAVE been on runs with you before, and there was no unpleasant experiences, unless you were having a bad hair day. Of which that would have nothing to do with me or my guild. If anything the unpleasant experience was mine having to listen to you talk about how you are the 'leader' of this run (low level power up run) so we had to do what you said, when you said. It was obnoxious, but I said nothing because you were fairly new and I frankly didn't care. Since then you have gotten ALOT better and we even did a Tia run together. Of which I was pleasantly surprised that you were a quiet team player (on that run at least) that run stands out to me, cause scotty bowyer was there as well, and he had earned a bad rep when he was new here as well so I was paying special attention to everyone in the run. (oh and there was at least one other ER on that run I can think of, and you did not crash once) So that makes a minimum 2 runs that you had done, pre hell and one in hell, where you had ER in the party, and you didn't crash, nor did you have a terrible experience. Personally you don't wanna run with me, fine. But you think for a second that when you have a (D) in your name and you are shouting runs where all are welcome but ER and you think that won't affect your guild, you are flat out crazy. I know funky touched on this, but I don't think he stressed it enough. YOU are an EXAMPLE to EVERYONE at HG about clan Discovery. All of your actions reflect on your guild when you have a tagged toon on, and that includes SHOUTS. And the reason you are crashing when you run with a ER person is probably the fact that your tin foil hat is interfering with your wireless connection. Stop seeing ghosts where none exist. toodles

My tin foil hat plays havoc with the wireless network. I think it may also be the cause of the current power outage in my neighborhood.
Seriously we partied last night. I thought it went okay. You got the tag. I passed and logged before split.
Peace
