The problem I got into with the renaming to the same name is, I messed up, so I went back and used the First and Last name slots to 're-arrange' my name. (i.e., original was FIRST Little SpitFire LAST (qt) - *tried to change to* - FIRST Little LAST SpitFire (qt))
It doesn't work and you end up with 'dead' characters. Just an FYI

That's correct, first/last name are just for conversational purposes, your character's actual name is the two combined with a space between. Also, leading and trailing spaces are ignored.

A quick question about reincarnation race tiers
If I understand correctly, you can freely reincarnate within a tier. So a Derrzagon can reincarnate into a PT-Air Genasai, a Minotaur into a Thri-Kreen, a Dragonblood into a Baseborn Titan etc. right?
When I want to jump a tier, I need to be tagged with the destination race, and have the items I needed to get the tag. So if I am already tagged with Mino, I could use another Mino book to bump a Derrzagon up to a Mino.
Again, if I understand correctly, after I use the book as above, and reincarnate to Mino, when I change my mind the Thingy remembers that my new toon (formerly the Derrzagon) is "Mino ready". Here's the question: Mino is in the same tier as Thri-Kreen. If I change my mind with this (newly reincarnated) Mino, can I change to Thri-Kreen if I am already tagged?
Or do I need to wait 3 months?
I appreciate that I could just use a Thri-Kreen book, but I am curious as to when the reincarnate process accepts a character as being "in the tier" - immediately on reincarnation (which allows time for corrections, and would, if functioning as described above, permit instant cross tier sliding), or after the 3 months?

You need to wait three months to became thri-kreen, unless you can burn a thri-kreen book, that way your derzagon could became one. If it wasnt like this, there would be a huge exploit, cause ppl could just burn a furchin book, and use their top tier sub tags to upgrade into brownie/HC/etc.
Correct me If I am wrong... Jonuhey

Correct. When you upgrade, the race you upgraded to is remembered. You can't upgrade to any other race until the next cycle of reincarnation.

This is the initial reincarnation post, slightly updated. Some parts may still be out of date:
- Reincarnation is in! Speak to the pillar of light on the cliff next to the lighthouse in the Docks. You will need to use the pillar for all reincarnation operations. You can reincarnate at level 21 or higher. - Reincarnation proceeds in two steps. After using your reincarnation slot, you will be given enough XP to reach level 40 (or less, if you were not level 40 to begin with). Once you reach level 40 (or your previous level, if lower than 40), you may speak again to the pillar to reclaim your tags. - To recover any tags other than Xulrae, Lolth, and MoaD, you must have either the same control class OR the same class combination as before. You must also have been at least level 41. - If you were immortal before reincarnating, you MUST reclaim your immortality within one week. You also must be at least level 41 to reincarnate if you were immortal. - After reaching level 55, you can use the pillar to reclaim your ability artifact if you had one. You will not be able to transfer your artifact. - After reaching level 56, you can use the pillar to reclaim your Pandect if you had one. - After reaching level 60, you can use the pillar to reclaim your demigod bonuses if you had them. - Reincarnation will attempt to retain your bound items (e.g. water breathing ring, Bountiful Beaker, and so on). Bound items will be retained if you decide to re-do your reincarnation. Some bound items will be returned to you automatically at appropriate times. - Reincarnation will attempt to retain other bound items, as well, such as epic spells. An option to reclaim these will become available after you reclaim your tags. Currently, only epic spells can be reclaimed, but other items such as the lich transformation will become available soon. If you claim your bound items, you will need to re-do your reincarnation to claim items made available later. If you wait to claim them, you will be able to claim them later without a re-do. All bound items are recorded, so you may begin the reincarnation process immediately, even if you wait to claim your bound items. - Reincarnation will attempt to retain your equipment. Only one of a given item will be retained; if you have two in your inventory, store the additional copy in your transfer chest. Once you claim your equipment, it will not be retained again, even if you re-do your reincarnation. The option to recover your equipment will only become available after you claim your tags. Stackable items will not be retained, with the exception of a single copy of any spell scroll you have in your inventory. Containers will not be retained, but their contents will be. - Your personal bank account will be lost. Ensure you transfer all gold out of it before reincarnating. - Your personal storage chest will be lost, unless your replacement character has the exact same name. Ensure you transfer all items out of it before reincarnating. - Your transfer chest and transfer vault will be unaffected and available to your new character, as they are to all of your characters. - To re-do your reincarnation, simply use the !delete SIMTools command or speak to the Rowan Guardian and delete your character there. You may re-do for up to one week after you delete your original character by speaking to the pillar of light.

Will the pre-reincarnation visits to the LL XDD secret be counted for a post-reincarnation XDD? Or once you reach the mandated levels do you have to visit the secret before continuing in order to get the xdd lvl bonuses?
Also, is it possible to reincarnate an rdd as a bdd?

you will have to visit the rdd secret again to gain rdd bonuses, though it isnt really important unless you would be getting an int boost (for skill points)
choosing a different color during reincarnation is allowed

The rdd I want to reincarnate is level 49, 39 of those levels are rdd. I visited the secret for the level 35 +2 str bonus. I would really like to keep that +2 str. Do I need to visit the secret at lvl 45 (rdd 35) during the reincarnation process to get the str bonus? Thanks again!

you can visit the secret at any time after you satisfy the requirements. you do not have to do it at the exact level (you can take even more levels and still get all the stat points retroactively)
the only time you want to hit the secret as soon as possible is when you would be getting an int boost, because you will not get skill points retroactively. if you do not want or care about the skill points, then it doesnt matter when you visit

I am about to reinc my wixard from a planewalker to a genie. I understand that I need to have the extra book on my new toon. However, I saw no mention of bank chests. Will I need to empty out all my bank chests or will they transfer to my newly improved mage?
