The source to the ERF tool can be downloaded from Subversion at svn://svn.hgweb.org/erf - go for it if you'd like to try. You'll need CURL installed (ideally, you could statically compile the ERF tool with a non-SSL version of CURL). Also, I've released a beta version of the HGE updater, which can be downloaded here: hge_updater.zipYou need to uncompress the files in the archive into your Neverwinter Nights directory. There is a Windows binary, a Linux binary, and two batch files. For Windows users, run the appropriate batch file (hge_gui_update.bat or hge_std_update.bat) to update your HG Enhanced installation. If you do not still have the CEP installer or archive around, I recommend backing up all files in your hak directory starting with cep2_ before running it, just in case something goes wrong or you wish to revert.
In addition, the HG Enhanced updater will offer you the opportunity to upgrade your CEP installation, which I highly recommend, as it will install the newest CEP (2.2b) as well as installing compiled versions of CEP models, which will reduce lag significantly. Updating your CEP may take a few hours (though the updater will only download changes, and downloads them in a compressed form, and is MUCH faster than WorldGate). Note that Zerial's Token and the Bountiful Beaker may look a bit odd after updating; when HG fully updates to CEP 2.2 they will be fixed.
For Linux users, to update: HG Enhanced GUI: erf.linux -vm hge.hgweb.org/man/hgeg.txt HG Enhanced Standard: erf.linux -vm hge.hgweb.org/man/hges.txt
Please report any bugs or problems you encounter. Especially I would like to get more testing of the updater under Windows Vista. Thanks, Acaos

Tested the beta updater on 2 PC's. Both running Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Had no problems, downloaded both HG enchanted and CEP. Only tested the standard batch file, not the gui. Love the new pigeon that temporally replace the zerial token Enrith

Just tried the new (GUI) batch file on Vista and got the error :
[.\erf.c:2057 WIN32] unable to create temporary submanifest file
Then just returns to the command prompt
Not sure whether its one of theose 'features' of Vista where you need to go through the UAC prompt to write/execute some files.
UPDATE
Those on Vista need to open the command prompt window with Admin rights and go through UAC prompt if neccessary. Seems to be working now!
UPDATE 2
new error :
[.\erf.c:1432 WIN32] unable to open ERF 'hak/cep2_custom.hak' for writing

Gren: Were you running Neverwinter Nights when you tried to run the updater? You will get that error if something else has NWN open.
Thanks for the tip about Vista rights too.
Thanks, Acaos

No problems that I can see, other than 3 hours to do both HG Enhanced and CEP 2.2 updates.

Same message after a reboot. Downloads plenty of .mdl files but stops after a certain point.
Can't try Enrith's method as if I double click the .BAT file it opens it for editing with notepad......prabbaly something I set up.

Can you try disabling UAC entirely as Enrith has done, at least temporarily?
The program is pretty standard POSIX, so I'm not sure why it would be going nuts with UAC stuff.
Thanks, Acaos

Will try it with UAC off.
It's not that it's tripping UAC its just this if you dont elevate things to admin rights you are restricted as to what you can do outside of your user area in Vista. Elevating rights requires you to go through a UAC prompt if you have it switched on.

Turned UAC off, rebooted. Same error message!
Any other thoughts?
