Been experimenting with the plugins, and I have a question on basic functionality.
The AddKnownSpell function allows you to specify a spell level when running it, but from what I can see changing it doesn't seem to actually influence where it's placed in the spellbook.
Does this variable actually do anything?
I've been hoping to be able to add non-standard spells to spellbooks/known spells (without making them accessible to everyone else) as a sort of "domain spell" knowledge, but so far am not having any luck. Any suggestions on how to get around this?

It must be specified and it must match the level in the 2da. You can't add a spell at a level that doesn't match the level in the 2da.

So what's the point of it? Changing it a non-standard value doesn't seem to change anything, if it's entirely 2da dependent, why is it there?

Future expansion. I'm working on a NWNX2 extension to add additional spellcasting classes which will need that particular feature to be used.

Ah, so it'd be something that would have to be combined with nwnx_spells, then?
Alright, if possible could you look into adding non-standard spells to spellbooks as well? It would be nice to have an ability to override the standard spellbook scribing scripts (or spell learning via level up) and let folks learn spells through scritped means they wouldn't be able to otherwise.
