Interserver guild chat is now available online as both RSS and HTML. It's been under testing for a week now and has been working without major issues. Personally I recommend the RSS feeds as it's a nice way to have scrolling guild conversations on your computer when not in-game, and aggregators will intermix these with run messages and other feeds.
To get it set up for your guild, you need to have one of the guild leaders let me know you want it.
Why have it?: Some guilds use the interserver messages for pending runs, trades, status updates on in-progress runs, help requests, and the like. This can be very nice to see while not in game or to catch up on things that happened while you were away.
What is logged: Only the inter-server '!guild' messages. The /g intra-server messages are not stored at all.
What if I don't want my guild conversations readable?: It is not available until one of the guild leaders requests it. If it is set up for your guild, then you can think of !guild messages as not dissimilar from posting on your guild forums.
Where is it?:
where the short guild name is a single word or acronym for the guild.
What RSS update interval should I use?: The feed specifies 2 minutes. Some aggregaters are smart enough to use this, others seem to not follow it and use 30+ minute intervals instead, so you might want to check. The guild feeds are made through the same process as the global message feed, though these are using a newer system that updates more frequently.
The HTML pages are ugly! Sorry, yes they are -- it's the same as the old global messages. I could work on them some to add auto-updating via AJAX but RSS seems better if you want a constant stream.
