I have a UR ward from a stygia today. Spell failure was removed as a property. I believe that is supposed to be a protected attribute now correct?

I took a screenie. I was in the party also. Although it was mentioned to me that it might not be a protected property.

Also as a tie in, a few armours yesterday on Nessus had their complete AC removed, which I thought was not supposed to happen anymore?

AC now has a 75% chance to be a protected property on most items (100% on boots, 0% on rings since damage immunity is protected there instead).

There's no bug here; spell failure is not a protected property on that shield (the Shield Proficiency feat/ability is).

Ah well good to know. Guess it was just a bad pick. Can't think of a possible use for the shield, maybe an auto-still wiz build?

No sane wizard will ever have auto still. Give it to a BFM or heavy plate PM.

The large 0% arcane failure shields like the Bastion of Comyr, are much better all around shield, or the asmo shield. Really the only upside to UR-ward is the ability to cast Premo, Stoneskin and a couple of spell slots.
