I have to ask: why do you recommend the int artifact? Wouldn't a dex or wis artifact be preferable? Is the confuse immunity THAT valuable? given the age of the build, he made this when the int artifact was the only source of confusion immunity. Now that there are a few items with it, it's not nearly as essential, and I'd say that wisdom, intelligence, and dex are all viable options. Dex however, is least favorable since AAs get nice AC/AB without it, so I'd choose Wis or Int

Yes, the benefits provided by other artifacts at the time of creating this build were not as useful as the permanent confusion immunity, which saved a gear slot. As to whether or not confuse immunity is valuable; in most instances it is severely detrimental to your party's survival if you get confused.
If I were rebuilding this build today, the wisdom artifact would be a very strong choice for the fear immunity and bonus AC, given some of the confusion protection items that are now available.
