I am building something very similar, probably because I used this as a template I have changed some things so I can get both trans and enchant. Here is my variation: Elf - Stargazer Str-8 Dex-18 Con-12 Wis-16 Int-12 Cha-8 Feats In Order Blooded, FE Finesse FE WF Mace SF Transmutation GSF Transmutation Dodge Imp Crit Mace FE Toughness ------FOLLOWED YOUR BUILD FOR EPIC AND LL LEVELS------ The only downside to getting sf and gsf transmutation is you miss out on one FE and blindfight (you dont need if you are going to max listen). There is more good than bad going this way. You can use bladethirst on your mace very early and you can still read the enchantment book! Meaning you can get the +13 to your weapon instead of the +12.

I hope you've tested this in the test chamber, but if it works, then very good, and you could possibly get that to +14... definitely test it first though

just curious. what would be the best pair of weapons for ranger? scimitar? rapier? I've even seen handaxes and kukris used.

The best pair is the one you have. As a dex ranger, anything finessable is good, especially if it's 1 size smaller than your character so you don't get additional AB penalties. While some weapons have advantages in the deep hells, in general I say pick what you like.
Slashing have the advantage of that you can use bladethirst on them right away without any special books, though I've made 2 non-slashing rangers so far and have had no problems using handaxes/sickles until I could read the transmutation book.
Scimitars can't be finesse unless you play a large race. While I do use a pair of dis scimitars on my medium sized strength ranger, and while they do decent damage, the dustbone scimitar is not particularly great, and I wouldn't turn down the chance to switch to something else.

Could you give me a breakdown on how you think Lycan would work?

"Lycan" (secret UltraRare; changes Appearance) - DEX +4, CON +2, CHA -2, free feat: Dodge, free feat: Improved Initiative, 10% vulnerable piercing, regenerates 4hp/round, increased base movement rate - fast
Base race human
Starting stats (including racial mods): str 8 dex 20 con14 int14 wis16 cha6
Follow the Generic Variant, and pre-20 because you already have dodge, bump everything up and then take extended spell at level 18.
Your last 2 great dex feats (levels 57,60) consider swapping for great wis, it'll mean trading 1ab for 3ac (136ac in UR -> 139 in UR)
Final stats would be (geared) str 20 dex 58 con 28 int 14 wis 30 cha 6

How about a good regular race, NO secret or UR, with possibly one free feat to help out?
Sorry, my subraces are limited to Illithid + Lycan + Minotaur + Prismatic
I wanted to try Mino but I hate that I can't see armor, but love that I could dual wield Scimitars.

Pick your base race, and there'll be at least 1 or 2 subbies that can work. There's a version on the free race boards with kobold, but that again you can't see armor. Best for style is any medium race, and then wield short swords crafted to look like katanas, or you can still dual wield scimis at an additional -2 to AB.

I really like katanas, and I found a way to get katanas on a medium sized character with little penalty. I had to drop toughness but that wasn't a biggie. Picked up LL enchantment so that can make up for the extra -2 from going medium weapon on medium size. Only sacrifice was toughness and blindfight (60 HP never really done much for me I must say, probably will get other opinions but I don't really care and 60 listen will make up for the loss of blindfight). If I chose to go with a small weapon my ab would be increased by two but then I don't get to dual wield light sabers Chaos

just curious. why Blinding Speed? what does that give

Blinding Speed - Now increases base run rate by 0.5m/s.
I figure 11 enemies covers most if done right, and running faster is always nice

isn't that what Freedom of Movement is for? Basically I was thinking of dropping it in favor of something else. I'm just wondering is running a little faster really that important
