I do not like the neglect into which large 2h and doublebladed weapons have fallen by medium characters. However, those weapons are fricking suicidal for medium characters - they are str based, and they drop your ac by 19 points - a terrible combination. Here's my first draft, here for some input. Yes, I know improved expertise is a pain and I can't count on it. Well, I use expertise on my other wm all the time. I'm familiar with its quirks, so I don't need input about how improved expertise is terrible etc etc.
After playing my WM, I started using the expertise feat I also noticed that I had a fairly heft AB. A WM's bonuses are about the same as 18 str points. So I got to thinking a bit... I was tired of building characters that were vulneable to malebranhce or PF as well, and I hated rins. No shield. Well, pentavite is 19 ac total. 10 of that can be gained by improved expertise. That leaves 9 more ac to be gained - could I get enough ac bonus to compensate for that?
Soooo, I started designing this character. Dire mace, light or no armor, 9 atks a round, yadda yadda yadda. Final AC is around 130 top geared when using improved expertise, or 120 when not. 98ish ab in expertise, 108 when not. If something's not paying attention to you, unload the fury, then cringe back into expertise when it looks your way.
Level 60 stats (no demi): 40 str (crit immune, yay), 29 (28?) dex, 18 con, 16 int, 8 wis, 6 cha.
RIght now, I'm right on the edge with armor and monk levels. Double demi gives me more ac as a monk wearing robes; starting stats do as well, but only by 1 point.
Armor only AC calculation:
Medium Armor: 5 base + 8 dex bonus + 17 enhancement = 30
Light Armor: 3 base + (15) dex bonus + 16 enhancement = 34
Robes : 0 base + (15) dex bonus + 15 enhancement + 5 wis bonus = 35

1) Can sacrifice Listen Skill for another dex point, raising final dex to 30 (or for another wis point, gaining another ac - woo woo)
2) Can sacrifice 2 wisdom for another Dex point, but hurting monk ac by one. If going light armor, no need for monk levels (1 more ab), but need to recalc save feats for new level. 2 Paladin possibly? but low charisma makes undesirable.(Paladin version below)
3) Free pandect for this build at the moment. Disarm, Kd? (Definitely KD. Disarm is hard enough at top AB)
