Help!

Up until about a month or two ago, I ran HG well on my system. Not any more.
Now, I almost always have lag and it has gotten worse. If I'm in the docks, it will take a second or two to print any message I type and a second or two for my char to move, after I click. When I'm in Hell (or Pyramid, etc.), when a spawn occurs, my screen freezes completely for several seconds and then comes back for a few, and freezes again. Sometimes I crash during this.
Needless to say, this has made playing virtually impossible.
Here's what I have: Intel Core Duo CPU E6850@3.00 Ghz, Memory 3.00GB, Cable Modem with wireless router in-between. None of these things have changed in the past several months. I've had the cable guy out and I consistently am getting 16mbs as a speed check.
So, my last thought is that something is up with HG for me, rather than my system.
Help! What should I do?
Thanks.

Open the nwnplayer.ini file in your NWN directory in Notepad. Look for a line reading Client CPU Affinity=X. Please post what that line is here. If there is no such line, please let us know.
Also, what kind of video card are you running? Do you have sound disabled in NWN? If not, which sound type are you using?
Do you play in fullscreen or windowed mode?
Thanks, Acaos

I had this problem the other night in Dis, and again last night. S&B mentioned he was seeing similar things, and we both have Comcast. Today it was working fine (at least so far). Do you by chance have Comast, and/or have you tried playing today?

Yes my hideous lag cleared up late on Friday night.
I have had similar symptoms in the past. Client side everything seems fine and my internet connection appears to be plenty fast but when I try to play HG it's like glue with continuous desyncing.
A few months ago I had the same symptoms for several days. Eventually it went away.

Client CPU Affinity=0 NVIDIA GsForce8800 GTS Creative SB X-FI (sound not turned off)
But, these have not changed.
I do have Comcast, as well. But, it doesn't seem to be getting better. I played earlier today, soloing the maze (so not much video overload), and it was still laggy and temporarily froze periodically.
Thanks.

Which version of the nVidia drivers are you using? Is your CPU multi-core?

The pings on Gamespy are all over the place, from 255 to in the 40s.
