Was pondering on this concept over the last day or so, and started putting it together, when it occured to me that someone else may have already posited a similar quasi idea. Sure enough, on checking the forum I found Balduvard's Scion of Pestilence build had been submitted recently also. Nonetheless, my idea is somewhat different (although I like his overall concept/background perhaps a little better).
In any case, this is still very rudimentary, mainly just the ideas that have popped into my head thus far. How many of the ideas are balanced or even possible I am not sure.
So here is what I've thought of, please comment / criticize / correct / improve!
Disciple of Vecna (or Vecnan Cenobite / Soulbane / Soulblight(er))
General Reqs:
- By Level 25 (or 28): 3 Arcane caster levels (Wiz/Sorc/Bard), Monk level 15 (Quivering Palm) and Pale Master level 7 or 10 (Tough as Bone or Deathless Mastery/Deathless Master Touch)
- Spell Focus: Necromancy
- Weapon Focus: Unarmed
Alternate Possible Required Feats:
- Spell Penetration
- Toughness
- Imp. Crit. Unarmed
Bonus on qualifying for Quasi:
- Free Epic Spell: Epic Mummy Dust
Possible Effects:
- With sufficient levels (Monk 20?) or Stunning Fist feats, bonus chance of stun/daze on hit?
- With PM20, qualify for Lifeblight / Archlich, or an equivalent?
- Monk levels count as PM levels for Deathless Master Touch, and/or PM Levels count for monk levels for modified Quivering Palm:
o Either unlimited, cooldown or uses/day = monk/PM levels?
o DC bonus based on Ability (wis/int or str/dex) or monk/PM levels?
o A DC bonus based on Necromancy Spell Focus feats?
Possible Spell Mods:
- Unless noted, Monk Levels count for ½ PM casterlevel, not at all for non-PM/necromancy spells
- Max of 2-3 on-hit effects cast simultaneously
- Level 1
o Ray of Enfeeblement inflicts stacking negative energy vulnerability per hit (1% per?)
o Negative Energy Ray adds bonus Negative damage to gloves?
- Level 2
o Monk levels / LLs count as full PM levels for Death Armor
o Stone Bones adds Natural AC?
o Ghoul Touch adds on-hit effect like the spell (DC based on Necromancy foci or casterlevel)?
- Level 3
o Clarity cast at full PM level
o Negative Energy Burst adds on-hit burst effect (Small Radius)?
o Vampiric Touch adds Vampiric Regeneration to gloves (equal to 1/3 total levels including LLs, max +20)
- Level 4
o Bestow Curse adds on-hit SR drop (either one-use or short duration)
o Contagion adds on-hit Disease (DC based on Necromancy foci or casterlevel)?
o Enervation adds bonus negative inflict on-hit?
o Fear creates an undead-type Fear Aura?
- Level 6
o Circle of Death adds on-hit small-radius CoD effect at DC based on highest ability + Necromancy foci (1x per cast or lasting rounds/level with low % chance of activation?)
o Tenser’s cast at either full PM level or full arcane level? (w/o bonus for 3 pre-LL tier 1 lvls)
o Undeath to Death adds on-hit small-radius U2D effect at DC based on highest ability + Necromancy foci (1x per cast or lasting rounds/level with low % chance of activation?)
- Level 7
o Control Undead adds on-hit no-save domination of undead attacked? (Possible due to aggro?) Or cast at full PM casterlevel
o FoD adds on-hit save vs. death at DC of highest ability (either one-use or short duration), failed save causes magic damage as cast spell
o Shadow Shield cast at full PM casterlevel
- Level 8
o Create Undead adds chance of transforming target into lvl 1 skeleton
o Horrid wilting adds on-hit small-radius wilting effect at DC based on highest ability + Necromancy foci (1x per cast or lasting rounds/level with good % chance of activation?)
- Level 9 (not possible without taking at least 8 Wizard levels with minimums of Monk 15 and PM 10)
o Energy Drain adds on-hit ED effect at DC based on highest ability + Necromancy foci (1x per cast or lasting rounds/level with low % chance of activation?)
o Power Word, Kill (as PM, so a Necromancy spell)
o Wail of the Banshee adds on-hit medium-radius Wail effect at DC based on highest ability + Necromancy foci (1x per cast or lasting rounds/level with low % chance of activation?)
