Requirements:
Base Race Gnome
Great Spell Focus Evocation
5 Levels each of two of the following classes: Wizard/Sorcerer/Bard
All by level 11.
The Tinkerer's learned magic at an early age, becoming obsessed with the simplest spells. Instead of learning newer and more powerful spells, the Tinkerer improves upon the old spells, bringing them to their full potential.
The Tinkerer's level (TL) is the sum of all wizard, sorcerer, and bard levels.
Many high level spells change to become more like lower level spells. Spells not listed below are cast at 2/3rds TL.
Meteor Swarm -> TL/6 simultaneous fireballs centered on caster, doing half blud, half fire damage, OR casts fireball on each individual mob, so a small crowd of 5 mobs would each be hit by 5 fireballs
Wail of the Banshee -> Finger of Death (with FoD's normal DC) cast on effected mobs
Weird -> those failing the initial Will save are inflicted with fear, those failing a fortitude save die
Timestop -> attempts a Power Word: Stun on all mobs in area
Energy Drain -> attemps a Bestow Curse and Ray of Enfeeblement on target in addition to normal effects
Incendiary Cloud -> casts Combust once per round on all mobs within the cloud, avoidable by reflex save
Horrid Wilting -> also lowers strength as per Negative Energy Burst
Mass Charm -> attempts a Flesh to Stone (without the bonus +5 to DC) on affected mobs
Prismatic Spray -> in addition to normal effects, all creatures must make a Will save or be stunned
Delayed Blast Fireball -> a triple strength fireball
Banishment -> all outsiders and elementals take TLd4 magic and divine damage
Acid Fog -> duration is instantaneous, casts Melf's Acid Arrow on mobs in area, evadable for half damage vs reflex save
Evard's Black Tentacles -> casts Negative Energy Burst once per round, affecting Dex instead of Str
Magic Missle -> at TL 40, Magic Missle becomes Issac's Lesser Missle Storm; at TL 50, it becomes Issac's Great Missle Storm
Negative Energy Burst -> at TL 50, attempts a Ray of Enfeeblement on all affected mobs
More spells would be modified than this, but that's all that comes to mind right now.
