How about implementing some melee equivalent classes of the BFM, DSM etc? All elemental damage done by this quasi is converted to a single elemental type (and summed prior to DR) + x % as you see fit / by level.
If damage type conversion is too painful/laggy, they could just get damage supplemental powers that only worked on weapons without existing bonus damage types - e.g. unerring weapons. Or there could be a new range of single element weapons only useable by this quasi-class.
Of course you could throw in some extra powers etc, but this is just a concept suggestion...

Sorry if my initial post was not clear. This would be a melee build, not a caster. But it would be a melee class that delivered a specific type of elemental damage.

I see this and think of old FF Red Mage which was kinda like a fighter or paladin but could cast spells which enhanced its sword with elemental damages. They had another name for them I think Sword Mage or something but I think you get the idea of what Im saying this sounds like.

i thought there already are melee equivalents they're called BFM tank and DSM tank Which I hope we eventually get to see a Green and/or Black as both tend to be acid though Green is where I would say to go and a White for cold basicly by nice to get all the elements in there letting sonic fall into a catagory of being a sort of bonus damage type to a few of the spells in some or all the different colors.

I would doubt it, for game balance reasons. Asmo has extreme fire immunity (>> 100%) because he was getting hosed really quickly by BFMs. If he does not already, I would expect him to have extreme elec immunity soon, otherwise DSMs would have an unfair and unbalanced advantage. Same for Acid, Cold and Sonic BFM variants. If Asmo were to end up with >> 100% immu to A, C, E, F and S then most non-BFM-variant characters would have a very difficult time damaging him. And therein would seem to lie the difficulty for the devs.

I see but I just would enjoy the option of choosing element and dragon color. I think the asmo issue could be fixed by allowing some fire damage once agian but upping the other immunities. he could also be given immunity to certain spells ie Firebrand to make some of the spells from the BFM, DSM, and any potential QCs with the same basic design. I think it could be balanced with out too much work on thier parts and myself personally would love to have the option of going basicly chosing element for the mage.

Well there is no "elec" version of the con arti - Breath of the Beast, so this is less of an issue for DSM/asmo balance.
