ok so i been on vacation and i always come up with ideas n stuff while hiking. just read Sapkowskis 2nd translated book about Geralt of Rivia and thats how i came by this quasi.
Witcher
requirements (to be met before reaching 22nd level):
-12 levels of ranger
-8 levels of wizard
-weapon focus (dagger, shortsword, longsword, bastardsword, greatsword) feat
-brew potion feat
-18 base strength
-18 base dexterity
benefits/changes:
-special weapon finesse:
--a small sized witcher may finesse: dagger and shortsword
--a medium sized witcher may finesse: dagger, shortsword and longsword
-- a large sized witcher may finesse: shortsword, longsword and bastardsword
-no ranger wisdom AC
-while wearing light armor, NO shield and one of the witcher weapons stated in the requirements, the witcher gains and AC bonus up to 2*int mod or witcherlevel/2 (witcherlevel= ranger+wiz levels + LL is CC is either ranger or wiz), whichever is lowest, and has all his arcane spellfailure removed.
-some offensive ranger and wizard spells use total witcher level to determine casterlevel and spellpenetration. DCs use either DEX or STR, whichever is highest. list to be decided, but mostly crowd control and some debuffing.
-some combat enhancing (mainly defensive) spells use total witcher level ONLY when brewed as potions. these potions are none transferable and the witcher main only drink 10 - [spelllevel] potions of that spelllevel each day (so 1 lvl 9, and 9 level 1). list to be decided, but think along the lines of bullstrength, tensers, clair/clair
-bonuses are favoured enemies. i couldnt exactly remember what i thought up here, but it had something to do with crowdcontrol spells being more effective against favoured enemies. basically a to force players to choose: ranger CC, less spells, but more FEs, so more effective against those FEs (and less spell focus feats etc) and wiz CC, more spells, but more effective against none-FEs compared to ranger CC.
-bladethirst will work on the witchers own dagger and shortsword, even if the witcher lacks the feats that would normally be needed. uses full witcher level as CL.
thats basically it: a tank that sacrifices a bit of damage output for some selfbuffing abilities and a little crowd control/debuffing.
if theres some interest, i will work it out more, including the spell lists.
