I've been working on loot for the Abyss, and it's time to start soliciting ideas. However, I'd like to do things a bit differently from the normal grab-bag loot threads.
For this thread, I'm going to post a particular drop point and type, and I'd like ideas only in the posted theme. Please stick to the themes or item types (you don't have to use both, but the items should match at least one of the two, and of course, using both is preferable). I'll keep each theme going for a couple of days before posting the next.
Thanks, Acaos

The first drop point is Pazuzu. Pazuzu is a rare boss found on the Plane of Portals (the topmost layer of the Abyss). He will probably be around Dispater level in difficulty (though that is definitely not set in stone). Themes: Air, Birds, Flight, Corruption of the Innocent Item Types: Ranged Weapons, Ammunition, Items granting Levitation

Just a couple of idea's. Hopefully it is the sort of thing you are looking for.
Tongue of the Wicked
Yanked from the mouth of Pazuzu himself you manage to fashion this slimy, razor sharp strip of leather into a sling, it pulsates with a vile energy that seems to spread coldness like an evil sickness up your arm and only with a great effort of will are you able to prevent it's corrupting influence spreading throughout your whole body. It emits a keen whining note as it spins through the air and bullet fired from this sling blaze through the air with immense force.
Sling Attack Bonus +16 Bonus Feat: Rapid Shot Keen OC/DC Sling On equipping this weapon the user must succeed a will save of DC65 or be turned Evil. Succeeding the Will save will enable you to resist the effects until the next server reset after which you will need to succeed the check again.
Raven's Feather
This feather weighs next to nothing, and as you hold it in your hand it's weightlessness seems to spread throughout your body. Looking down you see that you are floating an inch above the ground.
Using this item will bind it to your character. Twice per day the character may use the special property on this item to grant Levitation for 50 rounds.
Pazuzu's Blessing
Confronting Pazuzu was always a risk. Yet you managed to defeat him. As he died he screamed his defiance in words you could not understand and at his feet, as he fell, appeared this strange gem, you almost miss it as you search his corpse. It glows with an unearthly light and as you pick it up to examine it more closely a great feeling of wellbeing spreads through you. You feel stronger and you skin seems to harden. After a while the effect wears off and the light dims leaving you feeling weak and tired. The light within the gem pulsates slightly as if recharging. Unconciously you pocket the gem.
Using this item binds it to the player. Twice per day the character use the special property on this item to grant Greater Restoration on the Character or on another player and temporary Crit Immunity. However using this on another player will corrupt them and give them a 25 point alignment change towards Evil/Chaotic. If you cast this on yourself then you will be struck with the Curse of Pazuzu once the effects wear off. All stats are reduced by 2 points for the remainder of the day.

Wyvern's Roar - Helmet They say the roar of a wyvern can immobolize even the bravest of enemies. With the aid of gnome ingenuity, the Elven barbarian Maethordhor constructed this helmet in the likeness of the ancient beast he so admired. It has been said that Maethordhor, with this helm, became one of the greatest warriors of old. How this helm came to rest in the Abyss is unknown, as is the fate of the creator.
Epic Skill Focus - Intimidate +12 Charisma +12 Dexterity +10 Listen +10 Concentration +10 Discipline Immunity: Fear Immunity: Paralysis 3/day use of Dragon Fear Aura (The pure RDD version at -3?)
Garb of the Vile - Robes Allows turners to turn good creatures as if they had taken the Good Domain. +14 AC 10% Bludgeon 10% Slashing 10% Piercing 25% Immunity Sonic 25% Immunity Electric 10% Vile? (not sure if the new damage types will be used etc) Alignment: Must be Chaotic Alignment: Cannot be Good. +12 Wisdom +12 Charisma +12 Strength Immunity: Level Drain Immunity: Poison +10 Concentration +10 Discipline

Some excellent ideas! Beautiful plumage. Next up: Harthoon, Vizier of Orcus and Castellan of Everlost (PDF). Harthoon is an evolved lich and the chief servant of Orcus. He's a late sub-boss in Thanatos, and a rough equivalent would be one of the mid-rank Lords of the Nine. Themes: Arcane Magic, Command, Death Item Types: Arcane Caster Items, Necromancy Items

For Pazuzu:
Putrid Stinger: Spear with on-hit IoM high DC, user is inflicted with cold vulnerability while using
Claws of Corruption: Shuriken that turn good creatures evil on-hit ...
Swarm of Locusts Small caster item with slots. Allows a cleric to cast Creeping Doom with firestorm using Conjuration for focus.
For Harthoon:
Codex of Entropic Dissolution Small caster item for wizards/palemasters that has spell slots like a Stygia fan and allows the caster to cast Crumble with FoD slots
Robes of the Mummified Rakshasa These robes reek of stale embalming fluid and offer scant protection but have been imbued with terrifying and ancient power. Robes that offer no protection but allow Necromancy spells to bypass SR.
Decapitated Harpy Totem A face twisted in perpertual agony with a handle of matted hair. When lifted the head emits a keening howl that saps the will of your enemies. A torch item that increases lich/harpy curse song by xx to a maximum of level xx.

Phylactery of Harthoon
It is strange that a Lich would keep his phylactery on himself, normally they are secured in a place of protection, guaranteeing the Lich's safety. For some reason Harthoon carried his with him, at least ou assume it is his, who elses could it be? Black and dead looking it seems yet as you pick it up is begins to pulse with a strange light. You can feel the evil emanating from it, clouding your mind, filling it with vile and evil thoughts of magics of the utmost evil.
This item can only be used by a Palemaster with at least 25 levels of PM. Using the special property on this item will 'upgrade' your Lich's Phylactery. Your upgraded Phylactery gives you the ability to reach out with your soul to touch the hearts of your enemies and turn them to your service. Using the special property on your upgraded Phylactery allows you to make a touch attack on an enemy and a failed Con Check will dominate that enemy for a limited amount of time. This will work on any creature in the game with the exception of Bosses and Minibosses but during the 'possesion' the caster will be imobilised due to the need to keep concentration. Death or incapacitation by other means (Stoning, Dom, etc) will break the 'possesion'.

Rigor Mortis
This suit of plate mail is as much a piece of art as a form of defense. Many are unable to see the beauty and stillness in mortality, but every panel of this obsidian plate is inlaid with jade engravings of the contorted corpses of innumerable races. Their immobility weighs on your mind.
Special: Any living (non-undead, non-construct) attacker that strikes the wearer must make a will save or be paralyzed in place for XX rounds, experiencing a hint of what's to come in death.
+18 Armor AC Immunity to Paralysis, Stun, Sleep, Death Magic 25/- Physical Resists +12 Wis +15 Discipline
Wall of the Feeder
Composed entirely of interlocking fangs, this tower shield is a testament to the variety of fiends that infest the Lower Planes. No two fangs are the same, with every conceivable combination of serrations, barbs, and curvature embedded somewhere within the wall.
Special: If worn by a player with Legendary Necromancy Focus, the wielder is able to cast energy drain three times per day on a party member's melee weapon that will enchant it to cause those hit to make a fortitude save or lose XX levels. This weapon buff lasts for one round per caster level. Necromancy specialization doubles the duration.
In addition, Life Blight and Vampiric Touch spells cast by the wielder inflict XX% extra damage and healing.
+13 Shield AC 3 x 9th level slots for wiz/cleric/sorc 15% Elemental Resists +12 Constitution +15 Concentration No Arcane Spell Failure

just a wild idea:
Blade of Blight (longsword) initially, this weapon has only 1 use. using it will grant the character 5 points in the hide skill and the cleave feat for free, make the character permanently evil and bind the weapon to it's user. (using the blade does not require a tag)
the blade then gains the following properties:
while this weapon is equiped, cone of cold, tenser's transformation and black blade of disaster are all considered necromancy spells for characters with control class pale master. in addition, death armor weakens those that strike the caster: -1 to saves, AB and skills up to a maximum of -4.
+14 +5d10 cold +4d10 negative +3d12 divine +3d12 magic
after casting a specific spell on this blade, it is imbued for casterlevel rounds with special powers. only one one effect can be active at the same time, none of them are affected by spell penetration:
scare: the target must make a will save vs DC 11+(STR mod)+necromancy focuses or be feared for CL rounds.
ghoul touch: the target must save vs DC 12+(STR mod)+necromancy focuses or be paralized.
vampiric touch: the wielder regenerates 3d4 hitpoints each hit
enervation: drains 2d2 levels per hit. DC 14+(STR mod)+necromancy focuses for half.
cone of cold: CL+1d8 cold damage on hit.
undeath to death: if the target is undead, 25% chance it must save vs DC 1. failure results in utter destruction. otherwise, the target will not have to roll again until the next round
finger of death: 20% chance the target must save vs DC 1. failure results in death if the victim is not immune to death magic.
horrid wilting: CL/2+1d10 negative damage on hit.
energy drain: drains 4d2 levels per hit. DC 19+(STR mod)+necromancy focuses for half.

Bracers of the Everlost
----- You must have 20 levels of pale master to use this item. You may not use this item if you belong to a quasiclass. ----- To use this item would drive you irrevocably insane, unless you had somehow mastered the eternal battlefield
-----
Using the unique power of the item will change the spell slots granted between wizard and sorceror
-----
Power Word Kill spells cast while using this bracers don't respect Death Magic immunity, but respect critical immunity instead.

Reaper's Sweet Kiss - longsword Rumored to have been forged from the forges of the Abyss itself, this sword has been passed down among the Demogorgon's Death Knights for centuries.
Made from precious metals and forbidden magic, this sword seems to be sentient, constantly trying to pull it's bearer to it's own agenda. Having been created by Kargoth himself, he follows the same principle of trying to protect the Demogorgon, so any who comes across this sword eventually falls into the clutches of the Demogorgon, and joins his army.
+15 2d12 Cold 2d12 Negative 2d12 Sonic 2d12 Positive BG Spell Level 1 x2 BG Spell Level 2 x2 BG Spell Level 3 x2 BG Spell Level 4 x2 Must Be Evil When Death's Kiss is cast by a Bane Knight, Reaper's Sweet Kiss also deals cold infliction on top of the normal effect. (Slightly overpowered probably)
Gauntlets of the Forlorn - Gloves[/u]
These gauntlets, forged of a red metal and encrusted with scores of obsidian gems, were once worn by the infamous high priest Quah-Nomag. It is said that he lost these magical gauntlets at the time of Orcus' ressurection, but none can be certain.
Now these gauntlets travel through the abyss, belonging to whoever may happen to stumble across them in battle, as they seem to only follow death, usually the death of the current master, as if these mysterious gloves are searching for their true Master. All that is known about the power of these gloves is that they seem to heighten the ability of any magical being's power ten-fold, though no one can seem to describe how.
These gauntlets increase the SR drop from bestow curse by 6. (CL/5) + 6 with a cap of 18 at CL 60. 10% Bludgeon Immunity 10% Slashing Immunity 10% Piercing Immunity +12 Strength +12 Charisma +12 Constitution Skill: +15 Concentration Skill: +15 Lore Skill: +15 Discipline Immunity: Level Drain Immunity: Death Magic Immunity: Mind-Affecting Spells
