Some thoughts I had, a lot is incomplete ideas, perhaps others can flesh them out a bit.
Grimoire of Skills
- One time use item, depending upon rarity is transferable at reincarnation.
- One for each skill, although skills of little to no use should not be available like riding, spot, persuade, and I think even craft trap
- If used by a bur subby, get LSF in the skill, if used by a UR, secret or open sub race get LSF and epic skill focus in skill
- There are 27 total skills, after subtracting the 3 worst ones, leaves 24 skills that could be boosted. Make just 12 and have a virtue to choose between 2 skills.
Elixir of the ......
- of the halfling trap springer - give skill focus disable and search
- of the halfling warrior - ? - maybe over or dev crit in darts, slings and/or throwing axes
- of the dwarven wall - gives balance 1 or 2 feat
- of the dwarven craftsman - energy resist fire, energy resist acid - would have to have a level restriction of 20+
- of the elven warrior - dev crit longsword, dev crit short bow
- of the elven poet - +20 perform skill - minor dc boost to the spells that have a perform boost to them
- of the gnome inventor - +20 umd
- of the gnome warrior - dev crit heavy crossbow and dev crit heavy pick
- of the half-orc berserker - +40 concentration
- of the half orc craftsman - +20 craft weapon
- of the half-elf half averial - energy resist cold, energy resist electrical
- of the half-elf diplomat - epic reputation feat
- of human ? - ? - ran out of ideas
- of human ? - ? - ran out of ideas
- These items are one use per toon, only usable by secret or open subraces, and are race restricted.
- The reason for this is to give a little boost to lesser races. My ideas are a little weak for some of the races, perhaps others could help. The goal is to give weird options to builds.
Transmogrify Rod
- A one use item that has a race attached to it, things like orcs, gnolls, etc... Races that when use scry to change shape there are lots of options.
- Using the rod will change appearance permanently to race of the rod. Allowing modification with scry to the alternate appearances.
- If there is a size change increase, perm -2 to dex, if there is a size decrease perm -2 to str.
- Goal behind this item is to offer something a little different to one or two shape races like salamander and hound archon.
Hammer and Anvil of Crafting
- Hammer will be set to one ability, so there will be 6 hammers for each of str, dex, con, wis, cha, int.
- Anvil Will be the same as hammer, one for each ability.
- When used in combination on a selected item, the anvil will remove a +12 ability and the hammer will add a new ability
- An item modified by the hammer and anvil will become bound to the toon.
Skill gems
- Red gem for each skill, maybe have virtue to have less gems.
- Blue gem for each skill, maybe have virtue as well.
- When used in combination, the red gem will remove the skill that is on an item. The blue gem will add the skill to the item at the same rank as the red gem removed. The blue gem will not increase a skill the item already has.
- The item modified becomes bound to the toon
Rust Monster Tentacle
- 3 charge item, cannot be recharged with electrifier.
- When use will disintegrate any item in inventory used on, including bound items.
- Something to help clean up inventories of things like useless lev rings on a genie.
Goblin Bomber Brigade Draught
- When drunk, 500 damage to all in a medium radius.
- The damage is not party friendly
- Thinking damage could be set by color of potion, and there can be a verity of types.
Bracers of the Chain
- Item has a special ability to increase the radius of whirlwind and improved whirlwind attack. Thinking maybe huge for WW and gargantuan for Imp WW.
Wands of the Summons
- A verity of wands that can be used on summons only to increase their power. Pretty much all types of spells could be option for the buffs that the wands could grant. Like could have a wand that casts all the ability boosting spells at level 60 empowered or another wand could give tensors and EV at level 50. Some weirder powers could be:
- Mord and breach immunity - for duration of pets life, immune to mord and breach
- Amnesia - wipes all spells from the pets inventory, will be a tank only
- Kamikaze - when pet dies it blows up, causing damage in a medium radius
Amulet of the X spell
- When equipped, amulet automatically empowers and increases dc of a certain spell. So if ammy was of burning hands, and the spell was cast as an maximized spell as a 4th, it would get +2dc and would be max and empowered. Could also have like an amulet of doom, the first level cleric spell, spell like that should ignore sr instead of being empowered. Should mainly be for 1st to 3rd level spells.
Instrument of the ....
- Wind, Fire, Ice, Storms. When equipped by a bard, the bard's songs damage will change to match the instrument. Could have rarer and more powerful types that act as per the elemental swarm spell or even do exotic damages.
