Also those changes would decreases the damage from str dual wielding wemics being that thier weapons will be medium on a large char no ? They are actually a large part of the reason for the change. The katana-wielding Wemics out there are doing great damage on top of getting a great number of kills, and it's a tad overpowered. This change forces Rangers to either go medium, and incur an additional AB penalty, to weild medium weapons, or stay large, with more AB, but less damage.

This thread reminds me of trident layers and how I cant find them in Brazil!! Anyway, not sure on RL as I never used a spear or trident myself (lol) but on games they are always 2 handed, unless you are mounted. You hold them with one hand, but during attack it requires both hands to do the job. This is obviously coming from my experience on playing Jrpgs and other stuff which is just a little bit different from D&D. A bit of necroposting, but couldn't resist. No I haven't ever used a trident either. Or a spear for that matter. But history says that romans - the mostly deadly heavy infantry even to exist until gunpowder - did. As well as the greek hoplitles. Romans even used it while lugging a 40-pound up-to-the-shoulders shield by an hook *on their hands*. No pussy forearm shield carrying for romans. So no, spear and tridents are one handed weapons, no matter their sizes. D&D and/or computer games can fantasy all they want in their eletronic worlds. The purpose is, after all, fun, not realism. Take care Kaezar

With Spears and I would assume Tridents as well it would all depend on how you are going to use the weapon. Roman Spears for example were commonly weighted at one end and used as missile weapons. They would be thrown at the enemy and the point of the weight was so that once you skewered an enemy with it the weightened end would bend the spear so it was unuseable. Meaning the enemy couldn't pluck the spear out of their allies corpes and throw it back at the romans Another method of spear use was in medieval times when you'd plant one end of a long spear in the ground and wait for a mounted cavalry to run into it. Mostly for meelee combat spears were usually of a shorter design to be able to wield them easily one handed with a shield or two handed of u wanted to put some force behind the thrust. Or perhaps for balance purposes if wanting to swing it around and knock some one out with it rather than the usual sticking them with the pointy end. Short story is Spears can and have been used both as a dual wielded weapon or as a single handed weapon, both for meelee and for ranged attacks. It usually depends on the design of the spear. I mean a 10ft spear would unseat an cavalry rider but wouldn't be much use as a 1 handed weapon, where as a 5ft spear would be the opposite. Cata

Would be nice if the Razor was given the ability to transform into "any" weapon for more build diversity.
Unique power transforms it to any weapon, one time only, maybe making it non transferable.
This would also alleviate the strain on newer players trying to get their hands on the ever elusive high level Katana's.
