Hey folks,
So anyways, I've moved into another house (temporarily) and I am having a small problem getting connected to the internet.
I hooked my wireless router up to my friends modem, but my PC has no internet still. I did however get a popup saying I had an IP address confliction. The problem is, I don't recall how to see my IP address.
There's a command I can enter in the RUN menu (by the start button) but I don't remember the command.
After that, I need to set my comuter up with a static IP address so we both aren't trying to use the same connection.
Any tip/commands helpful.
Thanks,
Avi

open the "Run" box and type "cmd" then in the black window type "ipconfig /all" to see your IP address. I don't recall right off the bat how to reset a static IP address. It's been years since I've done it. I'm sure www.portforward.com can tell you how, as all of tis instructions require a static IP to set up a forwarded port.

If you type help in the cmd prompt it should populate a menu of all the applicable commands.
I think its something like renew or refresh.

Hey thanks, that command worked.
As far as setting a static IP address, all I've done so far was to clear the old IP address I had in there. My net works as far as I can tell; I logged on and everything was ok. Oddly the icon for NWN was different but I think everything is working OK.
Thanks again for the cmd help.
