so, i got a 500 gig SATA internal HDD for christmas, and i have a 250 gig one in there currently with my OS on it (XP).
im used to the IDE ones where you mess about with the jumpers for master and slaves, but there appears to be none on the back of a SATA drive, so my question is... when i hook em up, will i have to change anything at all? or is it just as easy as plug n play?
im running XP home SP3, and mobo is an Asus P5K SE (incase bios changes are needed)

Remove the cover or side panel. Touch the metal chassis to discharge any static buildup in your body(i know you know this but some don't).
Unplug the computer from the wall and then hit the power button to discharge any built-up electricity on the mobo.
If you already have a SATA drive just plug the new drive into the SATA port beside the port used for the original drive. Then plug the hard drive power cable in, replace the cover and plug the pc back into the wall.
Piece of cake, no jumpers because they don't share a data cable. So yes, it is just plug and play.
