Habitual dissagree-er? Well it can't be helped if I tend not to agree with the 'popular' opinion.
But the reason I don't and probably never will see builds made with lesser subraces as handicapped or lesser builds is because I have a couple of builds with less than bur subraces.
One of which is double demi and still running round hells now keeping up perfectly fine with other builds of the same type made with bur subs.
Heck anyone who parties with Kobras Kobold builds or Delf's Drow builds has to agree they are far from handicapped or dissadvantaged.
I'm not dissagreeing with you that most 60's on the server are BUR Subraces, heck the majority of my 60's are BUR Subrace builds.
I find it a shame that the attitude on HG is to max as much out as possible and forget anything else, it's a shame especially when people are constantly proving that it isn't required to do so. It is this attitude, which is understandable even if I dissagree with it, that makes lesser subrace builds so rare.
This hardly proves that these 'lesser' subraces are dissadvantaged tho. It simply proves that on the whole peoples attitudes are to max stats as much as possible and forget how useful some of these 'lesser' subraces are.

LOL. As with most discussions, we seem to be lost in semantics. "Disadvantaged" or "inferior" don't necessarily mean "ineffective". Your UR/Open build may well be inferior, but if it can get the job done then who cares? Don't get me wrong, I love leading my party in kills and/or damage too, but that's not necessarily everybody's goal or the only point in the game. You also have to factor in the type of build and what subbies you have available. For example, I only have a few BURS (Zeny, Maelephant, Hound Archon, Half-Guardinal). For my cleric, therefore, I went with Fallen Angel (UR). For that particular build, Fallen Angel is actually superior than most of my BURS--maybe Zeny...but DS/DM is really nice to get for free . If I get a more cleric-friendly BUR I may well reincarnate, but, frankly, there's not much reason to do so....Fallen Angel is doing fine. It's even more true for my str Assassin - One-eyed is the only subby I have that can go F2/WM8/ASN30. You can even do pretty mean Dragonblooded Bd1/XDD9/COT30 (or variation thereof). At the end of the day each player has different resources, different playing styles, and different opinions. What they choose doesn't really "prove" anything - one way or the other. imho of course. T

This is a non-issue - UR races are not as good as BUR races except in the case of a couple of minor builds which whilst interesting are not the best. I stand to be proved wrong of course You can play any race to the end of the mod, nobody disputes this, and it is a credit to the devs that this is possible. It would be fun to see the lesser tier races used more often because some of them look super cool and it adds spice to the game but if you think they can be as good as BURs I fear, in the vast majority (if not all) cases, you are only fooling yourself. Maybe the open subraces should/could be given a minor boost to xp (say, 5 to 10% max). At the moment this may not do much, but if level 80 becomes possible, it might be worthwhile. 125M XP is a long journey for many people.

In which case people would level an open subby then reinc to a higher tier... There's no reason to boost open races. They're open for a reason.

I agree with Dodrudon on this one. I see no need to boost open subraces, I leveled a couple open race builds and I saw little boosts to their abilities other than on casters where you can kind of notice the DC difference but not as much as to boost the open subbies. Just my .02 though.
