All right, if the applicant is young, tell him he's too young. Old, too old. Fat, too fat. If the applicant then waits for three days without food, shelter, or encouragement he may then enter and begin his training. - Tyler Durden Hmm why are you still reading this?
You want someone to follow?
Well here is my advice "Applicant".....
I say, do nothing, just sit there, and let time take care of all you problems for you!
Want more advise......
The more you do nothing with your life, the easier it gets...
Are you still reading this? ......
Look, there is nothing for you here.

I never got introduced to D&D really until Baldur's Gate and after Baldur's Gate I was really hooked on RPGs more so ones with deep character customization like D&D and games based off D&D.

Another vote for Baldur's Gate 2 here. My Grade 8 teacher used to loan out his video games to us and after playing Baldur's Gate 2 and seeing the trailer for NWN I was hooked (and I still think learning how fantastic DnD is is the best thing a teacher has ever taught me )

Think I picked up NWN after playing Warcraft2 for a while, think I had played a single player DnD, and enjoyed it. Getting onto AW POA as my first multiplayer server was dumb luck

I played paper D&D as a kid, which was great, then fell in love with Planescape Torment many years later, which lead to NWN and eventually HG....

I first got introduced to this genre when I picked up Icewind Dale in a Wal-Mart. After that, came Baldur's Gate II, and NWN. After playing NWN single player and a few mods (Penultima, anyone?), I started playing online and wound up in the old AW POA server. I must have left before Yojimbo because I never knew they implemented Level 40. After I came back and found the AW server was dead, I looked for a POA mod, and of course the rest is history.

I played a lot of DnD as a kid (jeez, I can remember when Elf was a class), and NWN promised to bring PnP to the masses.
Ahh, THAC0, where are you now?

I bought Baldur's Gate II totally as a random choice when I got my first pay then I got hooked to the whole DnD series, though I later started NWN mainly to experience the online PnP(RP based). I haven't played NWN for a while now while I'm actually playing BG2 again with multiple mods. Best tactical RPG ever.
"Melf's Minute Meteor + Mislead + Assasination" = ranged x5blackstab damage with nobody to detect. "Greater Deathblow + Fire seed" = 20feet radius no-save ranged insta kill all beholders and illithids. ........so satisfying......

I remember that they had made immortals port to a new town and you could level past 20 so I am assuming it went to the 40 cap.

That's where I started. Followed the Might and Magic trend, played Diablo, then eventually Planescape Torment (still think this is a brilliant game) and eventually found Baldur's Gate. And here I am.
