I manually downloaded everything and put them all in the NWN folder. I am not sure what im doing wrong here but when i use arf i am getting an error 29 Can't find server in URL in ini file. Use command line parameter. A log file named 'arf2.log' has been created arf2 will now exit. If anyone could tell me what im doing wrong it would be cool, thanks.

You should have that arf2.log file in the same folder as where you ran the arf2 executable. I would say to copy its contents here as that might help us out. I haven't had any issue with arf2 but I suspect if we get it working that will fix any other problems.

I'll let yohimbo help you work out connecting with ARF2. You can always just use the nwn.exe, select Play, then Multiplayer, then Join Internet Game. From there you can choose to Direct Connect to the servers using this ip: 209.99.103.44:5121 That will land you on hub 1. From there you can get to other servers by using the !portal <servernumber> command, which should add them to your history page as well for ease of future connecting. The servers available to portal to are 111 (hub 1, that's the one where that direct connect ip will land you) 119 (roleplay) 211 (hub 2) 212 213 214 215 311 (hub 3) 312 313 314 315 So, to portal to 314 from another server you would simply hit enter to type, type !portal 314, and then hit enter again to fire the command - just as you would if you were speaking it to someone else. There is a list of direct connect ips on these boards for all of those servers, as well. You can find that list HERE. Sorry for your difficulties in connecting - at present the Master Server is down, so the listings that would normally display are absent. Welcome to HG! Funky

I was hoping it might have given more detail Im still trying to decipher just what the error is with it. How did you install NWN and how did you "install" ARF2? What operating system are you using? The easiest fix might be to uninstall NWN and delete all the files after you backup any thing the you have made and/or changed. I would then install NWN, and expansions, fresh then "install" ARF2 and let it do the work for you of install CEP and HGE. I will say HGE is not required but highly recommended to have installed. Then if you need to add anything back in from your backups do it one item at a time and back up any files it may over write.

Before all else, and particularly before re-installing everything, I would ask if you are running Windows. It would look like ARF2 is unable to either find the URL it is looking for or is unable to find the ini file itself. If arf2.ini is in the same directory as arf2.exe, open up the ini file in notepad/wordpad and make sure that the first line under the [main] heading reads as follows: ini=http://www.hgweb.org/arf/arf2-server.ini If it does not, correct it to do so. If it does read as that, then try opening www.hgweb.org/arf/arf2-server.ini to see if it is some sort of connection issue between you and hgweb. If everything still checks out following that, make sure you are running ARF2 as an administrator, there may be a file permissions issue causing the problem (though ARF2 should not even run without being run as an administrator).

Thanks for that Bald I figured it was along those lines but being at work I couldn't really look into it very well.
I hope this has helped you if you still have questions let us know or find us in game if you get that far.
