Luisa Vos and I play from the same home network. Does this mean we won't be able to be logged in at the same time anymore? You will have no problems as long as you have different client ports configured in your .ini files. The particular problem that this fixes is caused by having two computers with the same client port and also a NAT router with buggy software. Acaos Can you please tell me how (or point me to an instruction) to make sure of this?

Open the nwnplayer.ini file in your nwn folder, and look at the line called Client Port (not Game Port). It looks like this: Client Port=5121
Those need to be different on the computers you are using on the LAN. If one is 5121, bump the other up one to 5122, for example. Many routers cause this to happen automatically. Funky

The newest hotfix is now being uploaded and will be applied next time the servers reset. This fixes:
Warchanter epics should really be fixed this time. Honestly.
Blade Thirst was not degrading properly and was turning itself inside out.
Ugly color code spew in Smite and Blackstaff floaties.

Fragment, if you think the Bard has problems .... spare a thought for the AA. In the last few weeks they have taken the downgrade of all time from "Ub3r" char to just part of the party. Consider first they have lost sonic damage on the DB bows which hurts. Then they get the minimum LL attack increase. Now every time a critter gets inside range for attacks of opportunity they are gonna get some painful extra pounding. Thats life on the server - classes go from Great to Gross really really quick

players (and monsters) will now incur attacks of opportunity for using potions in combat or using ranged weapons inside melee range Ouchy. Just a thought harkening back to pen-and-paper D&D. The feat Point Blank Shot, IIRC, avoided such nastiness in the face to face game. Any chance of seeing that here? The impact would be that "professional ranged attacks" can still melee and fire and part timers would still draw the AoO's Also, not sure how its implemented, abut how many AoO's can a single critter make in a melee round? Grog PS wasn't sure if this sould be posted here or under suggestions

I have done a few LL runs (desert and dusty) and have an observation I would like to pass on.
So far I have noticed that tanks better get accustomed to no weapon enchantments except in good parties without lazy buffers. Just did a desert and dusty run and only had GMW for the first map. The comment was "these buffs don't last long at all, its not worth my time to rebuff 4 tanks with 2 or more spells each" (gmw, keen, flame), some with 2 or more weapons. And i can see where they are coming from. Who wants to reserve 12-20 spell slots, or take the time to cast those 12-20 spells, after every rest. To top it off the others in the party surely doesn't want to wait around for that.
If this becomes the trend where tanks cannot keep a gmw or keen, I see dusty weapons loosing a significant amount of value and usability. Rare Level 35 weaps will be the king of the hill for Pre-Hell tanks with their +7 enchantment and keen.

Is it really that game-breaking that casters were "perming" buffs? How close do I have to stay to my tank for him not to lose my buff?

Mmmmm, that Phlegthoras fixed drop seems somewhat more desirable now.

Being in the same area and party is sufficient. Acaos Not sure I am following. I buffed my own weapon (bard with kama) and still had the buff degrade rather quickly. Is this working as designed, or do I need to stay closer to my buffer (me ). Seriously though, are your own buffs supposed to degrade as well and is the timer the same? Thanks much, BloodWynn

Kinda same thing with me on weapon buff degradation - though I only noticed it after I rested. Got messages even after I had recast after rest. This was my lvl 56 ranger's blade thirst, which doesnt' normally last that long anyway, by the end of the run I was getting lots of floaties saying my GMW had degraded though to my knowledge all of my buffs were self-cast only. Only actually SAW degradation on one offhand weapon once - and I swear I had recast blade thirst.

what storm is saying seems to be true. been in several parties today from low level to desert and gmw and weapon buffs in general are pretty much non-existent after a while. it always degrades after the mages rest and since you only notice the next time you hit something and since you have to recast it after every rest, it becomes pretty tedious pretty quickly. mages just don't cast anymore because they get gmw requests every few mins and understandably, that is really annoying. ...one or two flat of refused to cast it at all and maybe their spell slots really are better used for some other spell. the solution, of course, is to recast every gmw/df/keen/fw/whatever right after the rest, but that is such a thankless task, and on some level really stupid and unnecessary. i am sure all the melee classes that can cast their own weapon buffs are really happy atm, but the rest of the melee population probably is not.

changing the bufff system in my honest opinion has completely ruined the mod i know longer have fun seeeing a buff that only lasts for like 5 minutes making it a royal pain now to tank due to fact my buff dies super fast no matter how close i am to the buffer it this keeps up all fun for me on this server will be lost!! please either seriously extend the length or remove this change way it is now theres alot of pissed off people and things will only get worse unless so mething is fixed. a player thats been around off and on since rips time!! Yeah, I personally refuse to gmw people anymore. I was making the effort previously because Groo asked me to be more party oriented and I was getting in the habit of handing a few out with my slinger but now, its ridiculous. It's annoying enough to have to rest and re-buff myself while the party sits around waiting, but now I have to recast 5 or 6 gmws as well (not to mention everyone wanting FoM all the time)? Can't wait till the hells where the casters have to frequently rest for epics in the middle of combat...
