Most Str tanks feel forced into wearing it, as the additional AC very often means the difference between life or death. Instead, str tanks with 50 base str should get +20 natural AC by default, and Strongheart should have the AC removed and physical immunes added, possibly increase its str requirement as well.
This would let str tanks actually use a different amulet, rather than being forced into the same one.

From dwarf defender documentation (class feature): Natural AC Bonus
On achieving legendary levels, a character with dwarven defender as their control class gains a natural AC bonus of +1 per STR bonus, to a maximum of +20. If the character has levels in Red Dragon Disciple, the maximum bonus is lowered by their RDD AC bonus, but no lower than +16.
So in order to increase variability, without destroying this item or the dwarf defender I'd sugest to cap this new bonus to +18. Also a scaling value like: 8 + base str/5 could incentive higher strenght on builds.

Due the heavy usability of this item on Str builds couldn't it have 100% (or 50%) drop rate?

If you did that then you have casters screaming for lowered drop rates of Tia Bard gear and tanks wanting less drops of of Katars, Light Hammers etc and more drops of Bastard Swords, Katanas etc....most items that always drop wind up with near zero trade/sale value since everyone winds up with a chest full of them even if they are used by loads of people--think thids Sorc Helm and Wizard bracers.

I think the trouble is that the alternates that drop in the loot point are very meh, having been on the HC Phleg run the Tiamat Tooth that dropped was not greeted with a round of applause.

IIRC The Tiamat Tooth actually has no requirements beyond level 40 to use except maybe under HC rules so it has a solid value point that is often overlooked.

Its not significantly better that a few other level 40 UR amulets though (especially with randomisation thrown in), the same could not be said for Strongheart.

The amulet either needs an upgrade or to allow true strength tanks the ability to pick up this ac from another source. that 3 points barely pushes it to survivbility if your wearing full plate.

The point of strongheart is to allow strength tanks to get more AC to let them survive better, other stat values have different ways to survive and this would merely be further unnecessary ac inflation. Wisdom and Dex in particular feed into AC directly. Though I could see it for Cha and Int, dex based characters can already reach unhittable ACs.

I don't see why SH is looked to as necessary for strength tanks. I've yet to acquire one of them yet my str tanks seem to do quite well in just about every map of the server.

The Strongheart really exists?! - Gosh Yes they do! I have one on my tank (which I don't use I guess) and a second in a bank chest in case I ever decide to make to make another tank-like toon.

Kusin They are nessasarry for certain tank types. Staff monk is one. Plate tank is one (aka barbarian, end up with only 128 ac without the amulet) Its a real shame when most types have enough dexterity they dont need the amulet and wear light armour instead..which is causing the confusion of why a strength tank would require such.
