Hello!
I have a problem in-game with !reply and /r. I can send tells and use other channels no problem. However, when I receive a TELL and attempt to reply to it I always get the message that I have not received a tell from anyone to reply to. This is creating a problem because it ends up looking like I'm being an ignorant ass and not responding when. Yesterday a DM sent me a tell and was waiting for a response, which I was never able to send successfully.
Anyway, I have no idea if I'm actually doing something wrong, or if it's just a glitch with my system that I'll have to put up with. Running Win 7 64-bit and don't seem to have problems with anything other than !reply. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

(Apologies if you already know this, but here's my suspicion)
Same server tells can be replied to by clicking on the portrait of the sender in your chat log.
Interserver tells are the only ones that can be replied to with !reply.

I too suspect you are attempting to use !reply to respond to a normal NWN tell on a single server.

Possible; however, when I was having the problem yesterday, I pressed 'p' to get the party window up. I was the only one showing up on the server. I also checked webdash, and it showed me the same thing. I have no idea what server the DM was on, he didn't show up at all -- invisible, I guess?

They look different:
A normal tell from someone on your server will show their portrait and is just a green message. Click on their portrait to reply.
An inter-server tell has the shadowy 'unknown' portrait and says "Inter server tell from XXXX (server ###)" or something very similar to that, also in green - type !reply to reply to that one.

normal tells can also have the shadowy "unknown" portrait and it is possible he was hidden or logged in with the DM client which I think is always hidden. Best thing is if !reply doesn't work try clicking on the portrait next to the message in the chat log and vice versa.

if u need a DM u always can see those who ar online via webdash, but if some DM ar invisible u always can use the command !dmcall and ur msg , about all the time one will be on even if u dont see him and he will surely reply to ur msg

Yojimbo is right about the DMC. DMs, if logged in via the DM Client, are undetectable by the player. They do not appear in the player list. The Webdash uses the !who all command from what I've seen, which respects said list as well as the !anon command. By those standards, it's theoretically possible to have DMs on without any non-DM knowing. (If you know their login, you *could* type in /tp "DMUSERNAME" -message-, but without the login info, you can't do that. They would have to be on the same server though. Either way, not important. )
Either way, his solution to click the portait and if that works, use that, otherwise use !reply and vice versa, should work.
Otherwise I am unsure of what else could be the problem.

Hello, again!
Okay, so typing !reply ... into the chat field doesn't work. However, clicking on the portraits in the chat log seems to work no problem. I'm really a bit of a tool for not realizing that the portraits everyone keeps talking about are, well.. portraits and that you could click on them. Sorry for being dense and thanks everyone for your patience with something that must have seemed so obvious it didn't make any sense.
All is good in the world now!

casing !reply may be the proper tool sometimes, usually if it is you get a message in your combat log saying to use !reply IIRC, the tells using !tell and !reply also look somewhat different if I had more details at hand I would tell you some of the key differences to spot.

I didn't know about these clickable portraits until this thread. In fact, I don't remember seeing them at all - I'll have to try to remember to look next time I'm on

It,s easy to understand If someone talk to u , in ur chat box in front of what he say u have a little portrait u just need to click on it and then u ar ready to write a tell msg to this one If u receive a tell wich start by interserver msg from ..... there u type !reply and ur msg Even me i understood this

The portraits can be turned off in the options menu as I recall.... so it *is* possible that they aren't there for some people, but the default option should be to have them there.
