Preparedx: Right now, I'd say a Druid or Strength Tank would be useful, but we'll take what you've got and make it fit.

Taking the liberty of posting rump's OP from a similar thread on the hc forums--which, by the way, a few of us are thinking it would be nice to begin try concentrating our efforts of scheduling/planning/organizing/discussions all in one place, rather than a mix of both forums as in the past; if we could spread via word of mouth for everyone to start checking and posting *somewhere* it would greatly assist progress I think, instead of just the handful that use the forums now (me, chain, rock, hack, enius & co., and tele rarely). Anyway here's his thoughts which I certainly echo as well (and apologies to him for taking this without permission): Let's discuss how we're going to progress into the Hells. In order for us to get deeper (a.k.a Minauros+), I feel we need to get a core party setup. What this means is that people are going to need to step up and commit to a singular class to play for the Hells so that we can keep moving forward. If we do agree on this, that will also mean distributing set loot (at the least) to the class they are appropriate for. With all that said, who is willing to play what? Arcane - Bard - Cleric - Druid - Tank (strength) - Tank (strength) - Tank (strength/uni) - Tank (dexterity/uni) - Utility - Misc. - Feel free to suggest others roles I may be omitting. The class I'd be willing to contribute is my current caster Cleric, Aceso. On a serious note, obviously we are really working against time if we have any serious dream of demi and it seems like some changes need to be made if "we" are going to get anywhere before it's too late.

I would like to help with the hells effort, but my main issue is timing so that I can make the runs.
Other than Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays I am unable to make daytime runs as I work.
Plus I host a nightly 8:00pm east coast run. after that I could help with any HC runs.
Currently Have A Rak sorc level 59 almost 60 tagged up to Min.
Barb level 58 tagged up to Dis
Miracle bot level 58 tagged up to Dis.
Bale I think Rump is completely correct a balanced party is needed to get everyone demied.
But just as important is comunication, given the level of risk involved for HCs, all hells runners should download Teamspeak (It takes very little resources.) as I can help all of us get on and make an HC channel for use during hells runs.
Imo this is vital for us to be able to work together as a team rather than have random chaos during deep hells runs (Which costs toons limboing).
Bad
P.S. Players don't need headsets etc they just need to be able to hear what the group needs to do etc.

As for the timing thing--yeah, tell me about it hard to make a run when you're working As for the teamspeak (/vent/skype/etc.) thing--meh. I agree that it's true but at the same time there should be a level of ingame knowledge, cooperation, and mutual understanding with which chat suffices *before* it becomes an issue on a make-it-or-break-it encounter (e.g. basically any fugue/limbo zone run). What I mean by this is that yes I totally understand and agree that vocal communication offers many advantages, in precisely the areas which can be lethal to hardcore: multitasking, wasting time by typing--just plain fluid "hands-free" communication. However there is no substitute for the ease of communication which comes *only* by experience and comfort playing with a given person (or group). Additionally there is no substitute for the lack of necessity *for* communication which comes *only* by experience with a given spawn or run. We all have players with which we know so well that we don't need to communicate with much. Even moreso for runs--I think it's a given that only experience translates into the ease of victory that real-life warriors strive for by drills, practice, and training. What I mean is that for some players PoM will require a *lot* of communication even with close friends; other players can do PoM mindlessly and only need communication *if* their party is not as well-versed as they are. I believe every single run on this module could be assigned a chart for a given player and likewise given party in which necessity for communication is a variable. Whether it's Anduin Staff or beating The Voice or dealing with a nasty random, there comes a point for any player in which these things are "just another run" and you can shoot the breeze with your friends. This ended up a WHOLE lot longer than I wanted but basically all I'm trying to say is that yes verbal communication would be easy and a "quick learning" ability in which a "pro" at a given run or situation can quickly and easily explain things to those less experienced. Or help bridge gaps between players of similar experience levels but lacking playtime *together* with a given situation. But in the end I don't put much stock into it because when all is said and done you have to "be there done that" with any permutation of factors (party size, party composition of players and classes) in order to do the job right. I'm speaking from a background of using vent or teamspeak for "competitive" games with which I strongly identify HG for obvious reasons. When I'm playing a shooter or an AoS then verbal communication is either a) probably ubiquitous in the former case (xboxlive, LAN, PSN, CS) or b) regarded as a "tool of the pros" in the latter case. But the best teams in my experience are those where just typing suffices. There are a few downsides to verbal communication but I don't think any really apply here (annoying people, spamming, distracting babble). So yes it would be nice, but I doubt there will be 100% involvement on this point. And from personal experience a situation in which everyone isn't "all on the skype channel" is not only not fun at all but also dangerous. Anyway, wow what a long ramble...bad thanks a lot for commenting, and honestly now is a good time to offer thanks for the huge amount of support you've provided to both me personally as well as the "hc community" in general for a while now. It's really appreciated and regardless of what develops with the trip to demihood, it's great to have you help whether it's offering advice, bringing in a toon, or just plain giving encouragement. Same for you prepared although I'm sorry to tell you I don't have any more spare uber gear to dig through bankchests for

Min was succesful with a party of seven (including two bots). Also ended up with a Shield Pandect and some other goodies.
Will call another hell run for the same time next week. In the mean time we'll see if we can get another one going two so that we don't have to wait.

Rock, thank you for your continued leadership in organizing these. This was a very enjoyable run, with just enough touch-and-go to keep my blood pumping. Chirality, I think your comments about "scheduling/planning/organizing/discussions all in one place" are right on the mark. We probably have enough peeps, but we all need to be on the same page. I think a problem with the HC forum ( hghc.proboards.com ) is that there has been no active admin for that forum for months, so signing up (needs admin ok) is currently impossible. This means that anyone who tries to sign up has their sign-up attempt go unanswered. If this happened to anyone, please do not think that you are being ignored. I think Rump was working on resolving this at one point, looking for KC, who is an admin. Bad, I like the teamspeak idea. I used skype a few time in HG a few years back and it was a nice tactical upgrade. I never got around to installing it on my latest system, but will do so. As you point out, people can just listen in using their speakers if they prefer, right? Is there a general preference for teamspeak over skype? While not ideal, personally, I'm prepared to run on the odd Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning U.S. time, evening EU time, to accommodate your time constraints.

Hey Enius,
I am glad you said something about the sign-up issues I was not aware of anything.
I just e-mailed KC and am texting his phone to get the admin PW for you guys.
If I can get a response then we can figure out who you guys want as admins etc.
Either TS or Skype would work as long as people know the strategy and what their part of it is. That is already a huge step.
Lastly tyvm if anyone can help to set up something on Tue, Wed,Thurs that would allow me to resume coming on the runs and helping etc.
I will let you guys know if I have any luck with a response, etc.
