What all can you build with aasimar? Herald of storms and turner cleric I know, but what about the not so obvious choices? Any input would be great.
Also, in your opinion, which class do you think would be best suited towards aasimar?

Lash of Hatred would work to make use of their favored enemy. Or zen Ranger.

My wife is having a lot of fun with her Aasimar 'Ploder (now level 44, her highest), but we're not hard-core optimizers.

With the FE a Lash is a good option. It was also an option early on for me to change my Open Sub BG into but getting to the Sphinx was a bit tougher for me then and race books were restricted.

Well as for what is best-suited, I'm not sure there is an easy answer with the plethora of options for +wis/cha.
At first glance Aasimar seems designed for Pally. Everything about it seems to flavor paladin, and surely it will make a good one.
That said I don't think it's the best option (CC pally) due to paladin building issues + "not BUR" sub.
Looking at racial features, the FE is probably the best bonus, although to take advantage of it you need ranger. Lash looks good as Deso and Jimbo said.
Normal ranger would also work ok, but Zen probably is the best option for ranger with Aasimar (also like Deso said).
With FC: paladin you could do pal splash sorc and enjoy no XP pen. This build isn't as popular nowadays due to power creep, but there was a time when it was extremely popular, and it still is attractive for players still "building up", due to good survivability.
Herald works although I wouldn't recommend this probably either due to building issues there, and even +2 Cha/Wis won't help assuage the difficulties.
For a caster, pal splash sorc, turner, or ploder is probably your best bet.
For a tank, Zen, Lash, or some sort of divine tank is probably your best.
It really depends on what YOU want to play...and if you fixate on playing something, then you will hear stuff like "well if you really want to make X, then instead of Aasimar you should get Y"
There are plenty of options for Aasimar. Some of them are not as attractive due to being "harder to pull off" without a sub designed for it. Some options on the other hand Aasimar can do quite well but perhaps not "as good" as another secret sub. But that doesn't mean it won't be "good enough" and fun.

I am currently working on a heavy armor herald with aasimar, name is Archcloud. Will be hopefully running it in hells till I get fallen angel and can reincarnate it to get it wearing robes and max wisdom

Turner, Asimars make a nice Turner (Cleric CC of course).
(In fact you could get both Blooded and Bullheaded as Human-Aasimar - and keep decent AC with tumble + Abjuration and Slag Resistance with Discipline) After Abj, the priority spell feats would be: 1 - Spell Penetration 2 - Divination - Enchantment (tie) 3 - Necro (only ESF and if you intend to solo-farm Oinos)

Aasimar turner is very solid. In my opinion Turner may be "the best suited" for this subrace; but then again there is a lot of opinion and preference in there too. RIP -- I Can't Believe It's Not An -HC- Turner ^ The original HC hades-farming turner, and proud Aasimar
