Explanation of Certain Build Choices:
Half-Guardinal?
Some of you might be thinking: why choose Half-Guardinal when Kolyarut lends itself better taking WM levels? The reason for this is simple: I chose Half-Guardinal because with either subrace I would be able to take WM levels, but Koly has a penalty to both WIS (which is only significant for Will saves on this) and CHA (which is all about the damage). Also Half-Guardinal gets immunity to petrification and evasion. Some people seem to think that evasion "isn't that great" because it's not improved evasion - ie. you don't take half damage on a failed save. They seem to forget that with Evasion you take NO damage on a successful save. I'd say that's a pretty sweet bonus.
Why not 30 CoT?
Basically? Because it's a damage build. It is impossible (even with Koly) to get 5 levels of WM, weapon specialization, and 30 levels of CoT. Since what I'm focused on with this build is damage (and not +16 soak, 1 more use of Divine Wrath and faster auto-restore), I decided to forego "pure" CoT in favor of 20 more damage per hit. On a side note, you CAN go 5/5/30 with the XR subrace Spiker, though you would lose Half-elf as your base race and thus no longer qualify for LSA: Listen (hint: use your saved feats and just take Blind Fight instead).
Can you really survive with that low AC?
It really depends. I started this build as a 3x demigod with some pretty solid gear. If you've got some well-randomized loot, especially with some added elemental/exotic immunities, you'll be fine. Most runs I have a ridiculously low dodge rate, tons of incoming attacks, and no doubt a lot of incoming damage. However, between high immunities from decent gear, crit immunity from Divine Wrath, and auto-restore, I almost never die with this toon. So there answer here is yes, but it takes some work. If your immunities aren't up to the task, you're going to have a rough go of it.
Just how much damage does it deal?
Tons. Absurd amounts (using my arbitrary method of calculation, ~1100 DPS). 250k+ on your average hell run. Not only that, but all that damage means you'll be almost assured a top 4 spot in kills. So if you like knocking the snot out of things and watching them melt, this toon is probably a good choice for you. Don't forget, however, that if you want to really play any DPS character well, it's absolutely essential you get yourself at least two optimally crafted Halberds (instructions on the wiki) and one or two L50 Halberds (you'll want these to not have sonic, positive or divine).
Enjoy!
