It's really starting to mature as a service - they now produce some of their own content, and all of it is pretty well done. 'House of Cards' and 'Orange is the New Black' are a couple of their more popular efforts.
Aside from that, you won't find tons of recently released movies or anything, but they have quite a large library of off-the-air television shows and older movies (I'm currently watching my way through 'Criminal Minds'). You'll need another service like Hulu if you want to watch current or more recent television or movies, but I find the price of approximately $10 / month to easily be worth the cost.

I like it but honestly and thinking of switching to Hulu for streaming and I already have Amazon prime. I might keep the disc by mail option though redbox now has an option for streaming and up to 4 rentals per month for a reasonable price. I think I have just seen too much and own too much on disc to find a lot of value in it myself.

Keep in mind Hulu still makes you watch ads.

Keep in mind Hulu still makes you watch ads. Only on current items, which other than your TV service provider no one else offers, it otherwise removes the commercials from archived items. I also found Redbox killed their streaming service a shame but oh well.
