1. Item statistics Zivya's Primal Mask Base item: Helmet Armor Bonus: +18 Deflection Damage Immunity: Primal 10% Damage Reduction: Primal 15/- Enhancement Bonus: Wisdom +14 Skill Bonus: Animal Empathy +15 Skill Focus: Animal Empathy Epic Skill Focus: Animal Empathy True Seeing Darkvision Regeneration +8 Immunity: Blindness Immunity: Sneak Attack Use Restriction: Only usable by Shifter. Wearing this item will improve the damage bonus of Animal Empathy by 10% (up to a maximum of 110%). 2. Intended power level (55-60, or paragon) Paragon 3. The build it is intended for Shifter 4. The item currently used that it would replace [except in the case of usables and items that don't occupy inventory slots] Shifters currently only use well randomized Burs - whatever they can get their hands on, + possibly vestige helmets. This helmet would contest with XR helmets which would be a tasty Defensive boost to Shifter (for allround coverage of esoteric resistance or immunity, as well as other potential super defensive solutions. But this is an offensive variant. No damage reductions to physical/exotic/elemental/esoteric will narrow down gear selection a bit in other slots but that sacrifice should be mandatory to up your damage.

I like this one, imm blindness can be acquired via Augmenter anyway and the stats on these dont seem overpowered for a 60 shifter either. Would deffo take the helm spot, on my shifter... you'd have to compromise gear so it's well balanced... it doesn't offer any exo/ele resists nor immunes.

It does give a damage edge indeed while helm slot usually lacks a needed gear. Low defenses (and no other skill bonuses) besides the primal ones (which I can't gauge the utility of) seems an appropriate drawback. Blind immunity is better covered by Polished_Ekolid_Eye or, in a desperate situation Obsidian_Goggles

It's quite cool, a power boost at cost of defences for shifters, not dissimilar from items granting ''only'' bonus attacks to fighters or ''just'' more spellslots to casters. Most of the filler stuff is cosmetic or easy replicable, Primal DR/Imm feels right.

Looks good As Matt said, Blindness Immunity can be quite easily covered with a Tranquil augmenter (~1 bil in the augmenter shop IIRC), combined with a Solar Mote for +16 Wisdom. Polished Ekolid Eye falls off quickly due to being locked as +17 AC, and the Physical Reduction commonly overlaps with Heavy Armor (eg: Drape of the Doppleganger, Carapace of Smoldering Stone). If +16 Wisdom/Blindness is desired on one item (though it's common to use an Asmo Artifact to get it pre-Solar Mote), The Gaping Cincture is a good choice in many instances. Obsidian Goggles has no place compared to Helm of Zeal/Scintillating Scarf/Graz'zt's Abyssal Helm, paired with the relatively cheap Tranquil augmenter. Edit: Anyway, sorry for derail this had little to do with the item in question - point is, I think it's fine to have Blindness Immunity on the helm!

What item do you currently have in your shifter's helm slot?

What item do you currently have in your shifter's helm slot? Funky Here every shifter player will give you a different answer I'm afraid, given how flexible are shifters with gear and how there's no helmet specific for shifters in game yet. I switch helmets a lot depending where I am, for a while a Graz'zt's Abyssal Helm with stun immunity, 60%ish fire imm and a ur augment of 7% magic immunity added was helping with skills and phisical immunities too, alternatively it was a Visor of Vigilance with 14% magic added and a 30% ele augmentor... see, just put your most fat well randomized helmet because as it is, that's a open slot. Some set alternatives would be Ely helmet for aboleths farming with weird immunity, or vestige helmet for implosion immunity if not fitting it elsewhere...
