Feat comparison?
Before I start, just wanted to note that I edited out an error in the suggestion as it appears in the original post. The goal was to give SF/GSF Enchant and I had it listed as GSF/ESF.
Current feat spread is:
5 Pre-Epic: Cleave (BG pre-req), Still Spell (quasi pre-req), SF/GSF (ubiquitous and universally useful BK foci), and Mounted Combat (lame feat, but nod to PDK in the hopes that it sees some use; is on many other divine tank races).
2 Epic: Great Strength I/II (universally useful BK feats, any others would either take away from limited BG bonus feat list or lock the build into a specific path).
Compared to:
"Half-Ogre Mage" (secret eXtremely Rare)
- FC: Wizard / BC: Weaponmaster
- STR +5, DEX +2, CON +4, INT +5
- Free Feats: Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, WF/GWF: Quarterstaff, SF/ESF: Concentration
- Other: +4 Regeneration, Blackstaff spell inflicts 1d10 more of chosen damage type
6 Pre-Epic: Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack (all WM pre-reqs), WF/GWF: Quarterstaff (is staffmaster race, duh hehe), SF: Concentration (useful, but not required).
1 Epic: ESF: Concentration (Again, useful but not required).
Special: +1d10 on Blackstaff is probably worth around 2 feats (thinking along the lines of normal and epic weapon specialization).
"Corrupter of Fate" (secret eXtremely Rare; changes Appearance)
- FC: Cleric / BC: Weaponmaster
- STR +4, DEX +3, WIS +5, INT +2
- Free Feats: WF: Sickle, Dodge, Mobility, ESF: Discipline/Heal
- Other: 50% KB reduction (non-stacking)
3 Pre-Epic: All three required for quasi.
2 Epic: Even though they're both ESFs, they're actually quite useful for the quasi.
Special: This special is huge, especially for a Threader. I'm not sure you can easily determine how many feats it's worth, but it's a wicked bonus.
Summary:
Yeah, it's got a lot of feats, other subraces have as many. But what the current Fallen suggestion doesn't have is a very powerful class specific special which significantly enhances the intended build. I believe that balances out the feats quite nicely. I'd think if you were to remove any feats you would want to give it a similarly strong special.
