I created that toon with one thing in mind: make a rogue that has some extras, because the GI part is nearly useless. Looking from that angle I succeded and provide a searcher/picker with this toon. Properly geared it doesn't die too quickly either and can work as a gs res bot in worst case. Ammunition sux and in Limbo (yes I have run it there) I had to go back to level 30 bolts occasionally so I wouldn't heal a monster. A level 65 area and I have to use level 30 ammunition. LEVEL 30!!!! Seriously this issue is known for how many years now?
The GI buff on gloves grants imp./over./dev. critical and greater weapon focus heavy crossbow. But:
Crossbow sux in general. Why the heck does a crossbow have a lower crit threat than a long bow??? Weapon lore wise it should have a modifier like 5x or something. Oh well the OC/DC I get from GI buff increased my damage from 40 to 120 points on a crit (if the mobs has some resistance, as it usually is the case, this is lower of course). The threat range is an amazing 16-20 with 3x Crits. Oh and I totally forgot: If you enter the server or relog you have to un- and reequip your crossbow, or the 2 bonus attacks they grant is not applied. And before you read the pandect and have no item with rapid reload you can enjoy the low attack amount. Did I mention how §$&%&/@ the ammunition is?!
The extra physical damage you can apply to your bolts (quick swappable) gets usually eaten up by the mobs resistance. If you encounter one that has very low or no resistance it adds a little bonus damage. Just like sneak attacks they are regarded as a second form of attack damage and are completely unaffected by critical hits, but as bonus they cause extra kickback.
Oh yeah regarding the rogue part: Before you are double demi or 1x and have +16 stats you need an item or items with SF Search and SF Disable trap. Otherwise you cannot open and search past Maladomini. And of course have a cleric with you to bug for GRs.
You can upgrade your picks with +4 maximum at level 60. That allows to use +21 picks for maximum locked chests. You also have a crazy 1% Treasure Scent, but hey it is there, so might as well make use of it.
An extra that I worked in is the ability to put down traps. They surprised me with their damage output, but time investment is so huge it makes no sense and cannot be used in combat while you are surrounded by mobs anyway. Still this is a good occupation when waiting for the rest of the party to make everyone die when a kickback mob runs over them if you have enough time. Be sure to have them upgraded and max out your trap skills to get maximum dc and godlike traps.
The GI Bombs have quite high spell penetration. Sadly it is still not good enough for limbo and the DC is 55 if you are level 80 and maxed out completely. You can imagine how OP they dominate abyss and hell critters at level 60, NOT!
You have no source of fire or cold damage. The curse grenades proofed to be something to spam around when there is no bard around. They are only on standard level though and they do only affect saves.
If you come in a situation where you have to use one of your grenades continuesly you run out of it all the time, despite the huge delay you can throw them around (1 per round!).
Damage output of your bombs like the Shockers is so low that you even have a hard time in the desert at 60 to kill something with them (needs like 4 for a living sand if it makes it saves 1 or 2 times check).
The few things I liked (more or less):
The special mechanized suit buff grants complete KD immunity. Quite handy and very needed on such a toon. The +12 stats are.... uhm...uh... I got to go.
The sucker bombs are quite fun. They grant you the ability of some special crowd control and pull occasionally mobs from otherwise hard to reach spots towards the party. (Does not of course work on the still bugged thanatos p2 map2 part and the bludgeoning damage they cause is so low that it gets soaked up, but still causes massive kick back in case you use it on such mobs.)
The acid cloud provides some ok acid damage at least. (Sadly it grants nothing beyond that nor do you have any other damage clouds.)
The stone-hold grenades work at least a bit in hells and abyss ( at level 73 and 3x demi that is).
EDIT: Totally forgot, your caster level is so bad that stuff like clarity does not work to free someone from rage, nor does remove curse work to free someone out of a maze in aboleths.
Oh and just to make this clear: this is a real toon I have played through hells now 3x times and a couple of abyss layers too as well as limbo.
