maybe a (chat, like GS and other timers, so not lost in combat spam) log message such as "The flow of magic has been temporarily stifled!" could be added when the token is used (even by a mob--or do mobs [toymaker, dragonkin sorcs, harthoon?] even activate epic tokens? nonetheless could add a trigger when mob uses?).
this would both facilitate an HGX timer (ofc also making such a timer irrelevant for warning when a fellow partymate uses), as well as give an unmistakable cue to players that missed the gfx when harthoon uses it (maybe future mobs too?), removing "need"/desire for ppl to spam "dom up!" in chat every time.
just an idea i think lack of "warning" (from harthoon) is cool, it's funny surprise and should find out the hard way, but i can understand frustration of wasting it cuz someone else in party used and u missed it for whatever reason, and it'd be small qol improvement for both those reasons. plus with ubiquitousness of hgx tracking nearly all data/timers/stuff happening, and lot of kewl speshul log messages being a nice part of hg anyway, it'd make sense.
Poly is correct, when player activates its only "blah uses items special power" there would need to be a script added to the spell code to send a message to the party like Chirality mentions. I can think of several places where this kind of information would go a long way to improving quality of life addditions with HGX.
Here are a few off the top of my head, if I were in game I could think of several more and if there is any interest in this from the dev team I will make a list: -I fully support denoting party DOM activation, possibly enemy DOM as well but they are not your friends so they are not obligated to inform you of your weaknesses -How long you have dominated Otlum -What amount of soak is currently available before your Gate spell goes down. -Same with Energy Buffer and Stoneskin/Premonition type spells
The birdwatcher timer is per level of the player and I have not figured out how to add variable timers yet so my timer is a static 8 minutes for my lowest level bird watcher, I would prefer it to be dynamic for my higher level rangers Just posting the number that is currently still available from the stoneskins and gate etc in the combat log would help a great deal I think. Probably the best way to keep the spam to a minimum in combat log would be to post the full spell buff soak number(this would help a great deal with people understanding their spell capabilities), and a note when the spell is exhausted, although the most helpful would be to post the actual protection left on the spell on each hit you take, then HGX could show a number counting down to 0 as you take hits, that would be such a luxury.
