OK, back to my cleric - approaching level 20, and running into a problem - trying to kill the Grey Renders, and my WIS keeps being lowered! Enough to crash 90% of my spells! I use neg-potions, but this doesn't seem to help. With no spells, I can still bash the normal Renders, but the Mothers and especially Boss seem untouchable! Any one have any pointers (apart from "find a party to go with")?

Use Blade barrier then lure them to it. Use spell resistance to reduce the odds of losing wisdom. Summons also work. Keep battletide prayer divine power and bless to keep ab high.

Plodes. Lots and lots of plodes.
That's actually good advice for any level of cleric, anywhere, in any NWN mod.

Yeah, in the case of render queen, w/ solo wis-based caster you're probably best off just waiting till the level cap for the extra AB and spells to make both killing the normal renders faster and helping hit the queen after your wis gets drained and you lose all your slots. Just buff with +ab/str stuff before your slots get drained and with a bit higher BAB along with maxed str, gmw, you should be able to bash her. In worst case there's always the tenser consumable from emporium.

OK, back to my cleric - approaching level 20, and running into a problem - trying to kill the Grey Renders Yes, if you are only level 14, or splashed other classes, then you may have a tougher grind soloing this Level 22 tag than some other ones. The advice that Desocupado and chirality offer should serve you well at that level. Plodes do make it fairly easy for a cleric, 6 levels before the tag level cap.

Thanks for the advice. I hit lvl 17, got 3 implodes, and tried again. Again, got as far as Queen, with no WIS=no spells. Buffs not enough to kill everything I also tried Formians (at lvl 16). no-go. Will try again, and check logs to see what was hurting. Corpse Lord was a piece of cake (no surprise there!) Lava King was easy. Not looking forward to the next ones ... (But maybe the Implodes will help) Also not looking forward to rearranging equipment - currently using mostly Golden Set. Not sure what to replace it with - not got much Lvl 20+ cleric stuff

Try meming restore/remove curse (whichever one it is) to regain the wisdom, and then rest a lot? Just drop a couple plodes onto the boss and you'll pop one at least.

I'll try, but I'm used to playing melee/archer, and "rest a lot" is a phrase I don't understand!

Hmmm ... it would appear that condude's advice is misleading against Formian Queen ... and if she Crits you on her 1st attack, most stratagems are void ...

Still an insanely good spell. I'd recommend doing her in a party. Otherwise she really hurts.

The Formian Queen either needs a summon to keep her occupied or something to block her from getting to you as she hits extremely hard and has True seeing so you can't hide in invis.

i dont know your build but if you can use scrolls like bbd scrolls or pet scrolls this help a lot, also try to spaw them few at time. The best is to do it in party, also to use boost pots can help a lot to maximize your wisdom etc, same also to use a sheath item to have imp invisibility during the bbd and pets distract them from you at spaw. Also try when using pet and bbds to mostly use your range spells like soup to be able to cast the more far of them you can during the pets/bbd keep them focus on them, yes this need longer but this make it easyer to do.

I'm using a slightly modified Newbie Cleric (from the Caster Cleric list). Pure Cleric, so far (takes 1 monk at 40). I think I can use Summon scrolls (or can use my own spells!). I'm not sure how long they'll last, vs something that can 1-shot me! (OK, she got a crit. but still ... grrr ...) Still (re)learning how to do all this ... I will get there in the end ...
