"Ak'Chazar Rakshasa" (secret eXtremely Rare; changes Appearance) - FC: Sorerer (Male), Wizard (Female) / BC: Palemaster - Female: CON +4, INT +8, Hide +5 - Male: CON +4, CHA +8, Hide +5 - Free Feats (Male and Female): Cleave, Still Spell, Auto Still Spell I-III - Other (Male and Female): Auto-Empowered Finger of Death, SR 15 + lvl I would like to suggest changing Cleave to Heavy Armor. Reason for it on male/sorc side is would be crazy to make a 20 pm 18 sorc 2 bg build. Would have only one level 9 spell, which would have to be energy drain, would be dumb to play. Reason for both sexes is because splashing 2 levels on a caster is crazy, give up so much for so little. Perhaps on an elf, splashing a class to take advantage of able learner would be reasonable, but only one level so can still reach level 70 caster level when have 3 bonus from energy drain. It is fun to play with auto empowered FoD Overall a good subrace. Wiki could be fixed to mention it is a medium sized.

In theory it is the XR option for this crap build nobody but the creator played past level 50; a wild guess, but I never met or grouped with anybody playing that. The auto empowered and having +8 in the caster stat makes it a race worth the (weak end of) XR tier so it's not broken beyond repair tho, and your suggestion makes sense. Nobody sane would ever splash 2 bg levels, but I guess they gave too much importance to the linked build. Armored pms are out of flavour (Negatai has been bottom of BUR tier for years by now) so it's not like it would be a too powerful buff.

Maybe adding bg's divine grace for the cha build and auto-still 3 and heavy armor proficiency to the int version would grant it decent mileage.

No, that'd only make it a pure sorc subrace.

It would lack spell schools as sorcerer tough. (I was proposing removing the current feats from current cha version sans Sr and auto empower)...
Maybe it could get +2 CL if not pure pm.
Sincerely it would make more sense to boost PM to support such builds better instead.

i like the idea of heavy armour and maybe even shield prof, wouldnt be OP (at least compared to other XRs) and no wasted feats

The male version wiht BG splash is basicly useless as it'd be straight up downgrade from 20/20 bur to build a splashed sorc PM for +1dc but losing lvl 9 spells known.
As a "proud" owner of sorc pm, I can say I'd never ever play it with just 1 lvl 9 spell. Allowing PM to count for sorc lvl in order to pick extra spell known would give it 2nd. ED and Weird would make it for hells/ely/abo (tho for abo pm doesnt offer enough imo to do more than once). For abyss PWK is a mandatory spell to have.
What comes for just doing 20/20 with male, you cant use armors making cleave and autostills waste of feats. Compared to Red Gen you get +1 dc in form of +2cha, also +2con/str, -2dex/int making overall gain in stats only +2cha, loses 2 feats and trades silent to still (silent/still are basically equal, small case to claim silent better on few runs, with a bard non factor - mainly used to cast spells at +1 spell lvl). I could find those 2 feats to drop for +1 dc, but that coming from XR race is just.. I was gonna say hilariously small gain, but I'll use disappointing instead. Sure there is the auto emp fod, but 20/20 is robed, no utilizing aoe, casting fod on like few bosses when you can just use regular emps, you have enough lvl 9 slots. 15 +lvl SR vs 25% fire imm. I'd usually pick the rad gen 25% over SR.
Ofcourse, you could just pick armor proficiency on lvl up, then you actually need to free up 3 feats compared bur build (robed), which means you cant fit in divination focuses for PWK - odd interaction spell, as for pm its necro so gets full SP, but abyss paragons checks div focus in order to be instakilled by it. Unless something has been done to that over the past 5-6 years. Then again, maybe a plain armor 20/20 with just SP, nec and illu would do fine (greater div from aug and cry when you see elites or pop a draught). Cant say much about PM in limbo, havent tryed it my self nor seen necro/illu/pwk focused sorcs - that implies you cant do much there.
As to what DB suggested, in order make the subbie tempting for armored sorc pm it'd need to give heavy armor and shield profiency (I guess shield can be obtained from pandect but this is XR lvl subbie we're talking about, why'd its tailored build have to rely on lvl 60 random drop). However, I must say CoD from lvl 6 > aoe fod at 7 because of roughly double the cast range. Instead of auto empowering FoD I'd like to see it increase the cast range (or ideally both).
Generally speaking, iirc the plate of anubis fod area is smaller than cod's area, which adds one more reason why FoD is much more clunkier to use. There are also cases in both hells/abyss where you want your death magic to be dmg free in order to instakill targets beginning of the spawn while there still may be party kb mons in the mix (in hells you cant instakill them your self, can drain machs but must better to first kill death magic/weird targets if there is any). Also, again apart from bosses, you dont damage kill anything you cast fod at. In thanatos for example using aoe fod on dustmen would heal 1/4th of the spawn in generic, making the dmg on instakill spell another drawback. I mean, naturaly ppl always have a choice to use the lvl 6 version of the spell that has -1dc, but if subbie is sorta tailored around FoD (plate and auto emp) it shouldn't feel such a clunky option vs lower tier spell.
What deso said about +CL for pm, it'd only really make difference for the wizard version - but then again, splashing is done to get 2 feats (armor and shield prof) as well as roughly 4 feats worth of saves at cost of CL, giving bonus PM CL when not pure would be same as giving it those profiencys and bonus saves directly, why use BG as a middleman there. Then again, as Raj noted, you never see 2bg splashed builds around anymore, not so much in the past either. In paper you get ok ac, immunities and saves with still higher SP/DC than normal arcane, but those endgame players who use PM (from what I've seen, my self included) are more of min/max'ers so giving up that SP that you basically live for is kinda silly.

Sorc PM is just a can of bugs (I played a bunch of them but always regret and reinc-ed again) and most of this race features would be wasted. The old pm items (among them, the BUR/Malad heavy armors) don't have sorc spellslots and that's a big turnoff.
Not being able to select extra spell feats makes splashing and losing 9s a terrible option and you can't metachannel. In fact, you're considered sorc for LL skills/HP but you don't get any of the sorc LL gains, hence the only viable build is the borderline 20/20 that is terribly feat starved and can't go armored anyway (nor would gain much out of it, given lack of sorc-pm armors).
The race is okay for wizard pms and overall not neraphim/tanarukk/crap tier (+8 caster stat and one unique power making it a clear upgrade from BUR) so it's more an issue of sorc pms than race.

My opinion has not changed over the past 2 years with this subrace. I still think the Cleave feat and the +5 hide should be removed and replaced with Heavy Armor feat. I also think Shield feat should be added as well.
