Got a couple of Juggernaut books lying around……………..of course you have why would anybody want to use a race that ends up with -2 Int!.
I thought I’d see if I could make something playable with this underused (at least since full critical immunity was replaced with a Str (and appearance) based % critical reduction) race and considering the current trend in two handed optimal damage tank builds.
Half-Orcs
- All half-orcs receive the Toughness feat for free.
- All half-orcs receive the Blooded feat for free, which allows them to acquire Legendary Skill Affinity Tumble.
"Juggernaut" (secret Beyond UltraRare; changes Appearance)
- STR +6, CON +6, CHA -2, free feat: Expertise, increases character size to large, breathes water
- Juggernauts receive (Str modifier * 2)% immunity to critical hits, capped at 90%; that is, that percentage of critical hits on them will be converted to non-criticals; this immunity is based on their form and will go away if they polymorph or transform

75 Paragon Levitation (I like this one but if you’re going to wear a PW ring you could take Passwall or Firewalking instead)
78 Paragon Weapon Alternate Maul (gives you a bludgeoning option and allows use of a shield to maximise your ac at the cost of ab and the 40% damage boost for a 2h weapon)
80
Fighter(32), Weapon Master(7), Monk(1), Half-Orc, Juggernaut
Why take Monk at level 18? Best effect from free Cleave feat leaving you enough pre Epic Feats to get Great Cleave whilst delaying XP penalty
Why take a Weapon Master level at 40? Allows you to max Listen as this will not be a class skill until Legendary Level
Creation Subrace Level 40 Level 60 Demi x2 Level 80 Artifact +16 Gear
STR: 18 24 46 58 62 64 66 82
DEX: 16 16 16 18 22 24 24 40
CON: 8 14 14 14 18 20 20 36
WIS: 8 8 8 8 12 14 14 30
INT: 14 14 14 14 18 20 20 36
CHA: 6 4 4 4 8 10 10 26
Skills:
Discipline 63
Parry 63
Tumble 60
Listen 63
Concentration to 20
Leftover points to craft armour or weapon your call on this as you can’t max either
Pros:
72% of critical hits converted to non-critical hits through your Strength modifier (goes up to 74% if you get the Druid Paragon stat boost spell)
Max Parry - Reduces damage taken from critical hits. The total damage taken is reduced by 1% per 2 points of Parry skill above 20, to a maximum of 50% with a skill of 120. A skill of 100 or higher grants immunity to Assassin Mortal Strike & Ranger Called Shot.
Once per rest short lasting greater parry total immunity to critical hits
Parry based Fighter partial concealment in addition to standard conceal
115 ab with buffs and song
40% damage boost through 2h weapon use giving very high damage output (positively insane against non-crit immune mobs)
Serious disarming ability
Max Listen
Epic Dodge
60+ saves
With the Serpents Coil (Asmodeus Belt) and Paragon Balance you’ll effectively have 48 Dexterity for checks so you’ll be able to ignore all but the nastiest ones
Cons:
20% Experience penalty (although effectively reduced to 15% if you get all the pre-LL accomplishments)
ac meh
loss of a gear slot due to 2h weapon use
