1. A potion that may only be consumed while standing in an Inn. 2. Intended power level: Level 65 required to consume it. 3. The item is intended for people with multiple accounts. 4. There is no item currently used for this purpose.
Upon drinking the Vial of Dislocation a dialogue box appears which gives the player a list of all server-vault accounts which:
A] have his current CD Key authorized for use on them, AND, B] are tagged with the current character's subrace.
Upon selecting an account the character does a wee animation and utters something about poison. The character is then booted from server, and the file for the character is moved into the selected account's server-vault.
Drinking the vial counts as a reincarnation in terms of the time delays between reincarnation cycles.
In terms of the game that we do not discuss this might be equated to a server transfer service - although, it is in reality an account transfer service. That game will do that as well.
I see this as a quite useful tool given the lower server populations and the need for people to take different toons at the same time.

this would be a godsend for folks like myself who have all their decent characters piled up in one account, before I knew any better.

As hinted at above, the idea is basically an item form of this; Funky appears to be against it.

I'm not against it; I just don't have the time to spare that a swap like that takes to do manually. I also don't think we have the ability to code an automatic swap. Most of our snazzier plugins work on the character while they are in memory and resort to the vanilla saving mechanism. Letoscript *might* have the ability, but it would be very tricky, since it can't always reliably find the path to the vault, or verify that a vault path other than the one the bic is stored in exists. We can very easily list all the playernames associated with a key, so we could probably get around that by having you pick from a pre-selected list, per the suggestion, but the final obstable would be moving the bicfile over. We would essentially need a way to execute linux commands from inside the mod. There is a plugin that can do some things like that, but at minimum it would be an enormous project to undertake.

Slap a dollar amount on it to justify the time to do each one and let them contribute given the workload?
