Rather than create a new thread for this I thought I'd ask a few questions about HG going over to EE...
One of my major issues is the loss of all characters and their possessions, as those with long enough memmories will recall when bioware done their updates 1.61, 1.64. 1.67 and 1.69.. Everyone suffered loss of the characters and their gold etc... Forcing everyone to start over with new characters from scratch... This maybe some peoples idea of fun but I do not count myself in those that do...
So is HG going to run both 1.69 and the EE by splitting the server number to say 5 a piece ? Or is it going to go wholesale into EE ?
Next question is it possible anyone has found away one a single computer to make a dual install (ie.. 1 NWN1.69 and 1 EE) versions of the game... So one could choose which they wish to play on at a particular time ... As far I am aware at this time from a friends experience the neww EE version also overwrites your system reg for the game which ever you install first as it seem to over write the system reg for the game as soon as you play the EE version...
I for one can not afford a 2nd computer to install the EE version on that...
In regards of the above post about Blackstone Keep the developer and host Driller is an excellent programmer but I am left dismayed by the dropping of the 1.69 version... Lost a an awful lot of characters and one in particular I was very pleased with... WHom I played as roguish merchant trader and ended up being the richess character the game ever had over 900m gold and items worth at least worth another 700m at my last count... Admittedly the gold is nothing compared to what you can amass in HG but in Blackstone Keep's standings it is an awful lot... given the most you'd get from one shop that paid the most per item was 250,000 gold... Where as in HG you can get millions for even the most mudane set of armour for instance.

The new EE install allows you to do both copies of the game. I haven't had any issues with that. I just don't play EE because if it isn't HG, I haven't found it worth playing. What will happen with characters, loot, gold, etc porting over has yet to be decided.

I have both 1.69 and EE installed and have had no conflict issues myself, I rarely fire up EE at the minute as there is no HG available

Agreed. I have EE installed on several laptops, and about 10 instances of 1.69 installed on same laptops with no conflicts. I have noticed that EE uses the same portraits that 1.69 is using but I dont remember if I duplicated my portraits directory into EE or if both ended up sharing directories, it would make no sense at all for two significantly different games to share the same config files and directories as different as they are so I am inclined to believe I dumped my portraits into the new EE and just don't remember doing so. On the bright side the portraits are use-able for both games with no modifications necessary. I would say that anyone even slightly proficient at computer game installing/operating could succeed at installing both EE and 1.69 with no issues to worry about

Thanks for advice people much appreciated perhaps I will give it a try soon and see what happens... Of course I will do a back up to mem stick of nwn 1.69 first case things go badly least that way I do save myself a lot of work getting that running again...
Again thanks for your experiencies reported here...

Me and 2 of my friends are waiting HG POA to be going to Steams NWN EE , we will start playing the game again when that happens.
Personal Opinion about EE is that it just somehow feels better, moveing the camera, watching npcs move etc, everything just felt like it was 144hz on 144hz , while The 1.69 does not feel like 144hz even if you have 144hz selected. i dunno meaby its just my imegination , but i just felt like it was just were just a tiny little bit more polished than 1.69, i wonder if it was the changes done to the graphics engine to use directx9 instead of openGl , or something i dunno, could been just that it looked nicer cose if modern Anti aliaising, i have no idea, but i tried it and it just felt nicer overall

I was an AW PoA player but reading sabregirl's description it doesn't even sound like that which is sad.
