But hey, why should we prioritize things that benefit the entire community instead of one player?
This one is thought provoking. I have no doubt you and Sabregirl did what had to be done in cleaning up the mess and ensuring that it wouldn't happen again. You have access to game logs and developer's insight into the game economy/balance that few if any of us here have. What you do not have however - and I write this with all appreciation and respect to you for keeping HG going - is insight into the community dynamics. In other words, you miss out on the "word on the street". No matter how Prep and Manuka were loved/loathed/indifferent to, they were an integral part of HG. I personally did not party with them extensively (after couple runs I found our play styles were somewhat incompatible), but good number of other players did. My concern is that forcing either or both out will also trigger other players to leave, because they will simply not find buddies to party with. Which brings me to the first point: what is good for the server vs. one player. There just isn't a massive influx of new or returning players to fill this gap.
No, we were aware, and are also aware that with the passing of dets, there will be some empty times on the server. It's definitely unfortunate, and this consideration played into mitigating our handling of the situation.
Lol of course we knew this bug would be found out. Every other single bug I have been in has been found out. We blatantly spammed it while chain link the dm was playing and put in 0 effort to concealing it or going slow... i wanted to abuse it for the short while it was there.i play the game as fast and efficient as possible with the goal of my character being as powerful as possible. There is no way this bug being around for a long time would be fun. As there was no point in doing anything else while this bug worked, with it being so rewarding. However I wrongly assumed the bug would just be patched with no consequences, as had every other bug I have experienced or been told about in my time on hg Again I am obviously bad at getting my point across my only issuse is that I believe you didnt handle it right and the consequence was so severe for a action I wrongly assumed had no consequences, based on my prior experience with bugs and what I have been told and read as quoted by poli.
If you want to continue playing I will unban you. I was concerned that you might loot dump. At present I intend only to wipe whatever canopics remain on your characters via script, to save time. I would remind you that that leaves you with some absurdly good gear you would not have absent this exploit.
Ok ray name one person I made quit? I have no idea what you are talking about.
I would like to be unbanned please funky. At the moment I have no interest of playing again(this is because of the amount of loot lost is so massive I have basically wasted 1000s of hours farming canos and they way this situation was handled) howeverer obviously the game is amazing and props to you for creating it. I am sure I will feel differently another day when I get over the losses. Even if I disagree completely with the view for the dev's on this situation, the way it was handled and now prep has quit thanks to this.
I'll edit my previous post, so it's more hypothetical. I was typing fast and I was not incredibly thoughtful. However, there have been people that have left because of prep. That's in the past. My point being: Who's to say those people won't return now? Maybe people will leave but maybe people will return. I legitimately am interested in what the server will look like now. I clumped you into that idea unfairly. Sorry
Well that brings everything back into focus, he'd always come after me and message me by name, I'm now wishing I'd managed to meet up with him at some point as he didn't actually live that far from me. My deepest sympathy to any and all that knew him well, I'm going to miss our interactions and his 'AFK a bit' (lasting more than an hour) while he was dragging me though a PoM run which he did on multiple occasions.
