Shouldn't a wraith be able to "walk" on quicksand too since it really floats?

LMAO Was waiting for this, almost threatened to drown the first person who asked. No, silly, their sheets are made of mylar. That, and they're overpowered as it is. We considered ALL the subraces and classes already, before you suggest RDD, or half-dragons, or badlander halflings, etc etc. Funky

For that matter, why Averial? Again for secret race balance, or are the wings significantly larger than other winged races?

Greetings,
This topic of quicksand, I am feeling a little "back of the bus" here. Would some gracious soul provide a short course for those desiring to be forearmed as well as forewarned of the much too perilous perils yet to be encountered.

Averials because they are hollow-boned (hence the con penalty) and therefore light, with a low density-to-surface area ratio, and because of subrace balance. The quicksand is in areas appearing in today's update. Funky

They're no lighter than normal...basically just people with extraplanar ancestry. Funky .. welll.. Air Genasi can be lighter than normal like you said they have extraplanar ancetry from the plane of Air.. and last time i check air is very very "light"... and if their ancetry is from air plane or related to air element should they have the characteristic of being at least light? and i was wondering if it is possible to give lich (from pm) the ablity to breath water? i know this seem werid request since lich dont have lungs so they should not breath air or water in the first place, however, that is also my point if lich dont have lungs why would they drown? the last thing is that would it be possible to modify one of the wiz/sorc so that it would give the caster temporary "Levitation magic"? this seem to me to be a very reasonable since mage in dd game get to cast "fly" spell or just "feather fall"(not sure on this one...) some spell that would sound's fitting i found are: Horizikaul's Boom stink cloud gust of wind- i choose these three spell bc they all relate to air domain.. expditious retreat- may be this spell allow the caster so quick that the caster wouldnt stink in to the quicksand Gohstly visage ethereal visage- these two would also do the job for in theory creature with concealment does not fully exist in the normal world and so part of them is at some other plane like the plane of shadow.... and so doesn't mean part of the concealment ceature's weight only exist on normal and shouldnt that made they "lighter then normal"?

Liches and archliches can already survive underwater without drowning. Concealment has nothing inherently to do with being partly on another plane, it is simply a miss chance, for whatever reason. Improved Invisibility grants it. 'Etherial' visage is nothing more than a "nimbus of light". It's unlikely that wizard or sorcerer spells will grant levitation, though upcoming priest spells might.

Funky yea... my bad was thinking of coprate or something like that..... why is that? is it for power balance reason? priest( cleric) right now is not right now the weakest class with their imporsion and nice combant and casting ablitity...

I would definatley think there might be a Druid spell or two that would grant it. Can't think of any but it seems like a Druidic power.

Priests currently are pretty underpowered compared to mages, implosion or no. Hopefully giving them some epic-type spells will alter the balance a bit. Funky

Oddly, I'm suprised that you don't want to give wizards and sorcerers levitation spells, since it is traditionally right up our alley, both in D&D rules and the fantasy genre as a whole. Of course, if it is for class balance as you suggest above, then thats an entirely different barrel of spiders...

I think that requires 30 lvls of pm and possibly need to be immortal to attain archlich.
