Hey guys, it's been a while Just on the Dev Crit Issue - I agree with taking it out, but consider this, Mages have instant death spells, why not have dev crit, and limit it's per day use? Just a thought

I would also like to know if there is going to be a Storyline behind the Mod, like the original NWN Campaign, or something similar. I know there is quests, but are any actually for a Mod based plot?

I have a request also, can we have a merchant in town, who for a price will automatically be able to customise the LOOK of your weapons and armour? for any character to do this, they have to sacrifice some skills else where, and not everyone will, or can. If this service is made available, you would see all sorts of fully customised characters walking around, minus there gold Of course, it should cost more than if you did it yourself, but automatically succeed. Maybe make it take a very small amount of XP too if you so judge.

I also forgot to ask, can we please have some signs in town that point in the direction of major landmarks? EG. other towns, the local coal mine, the fortress keep on the edge of the local lords boundaries? I dont want every little place marked, just the major landmarks so people can actually tell which way to go.

I just had another thought, purely RP reasoning behind it 2 If an item is going to be Class specific when it normally isn't (EG the 2handed sword for BlackGuards & RDD in Vamps area) Could we please have a story behind why in the items description? It would hopefully stop all the people going "why cant we use it?" and provide some interesting reading also

Nice idea by Blood above, Is it possible for Dev Crit to be scripted as a per use skill like Ki Strike is? one use per 10 character levels or something?
I agree with the thought on instant death spells, they can even affect multiple targets, and a wizard doesnt have to roll to hit, or score a critical hit to get the chance to kill the monsters.
And if items are going to be a lot more restrictive, or less bonuses than in the current game(which are overpowered) then fighters will be doing a lot less damage (ok a bit less damage).
after reading this post dont jump on me screaming dev crits out! Its just an idea, and even if you dont want it in, I'd be interested to know if the above is possible ;D

We are not going to have Dev Crit active in HG II, at all.
Now, is it possible to set it up so that dev crit is used as a daily skill? Ummm, that would be EXTREMELY hard to accomplish, and basically be a waste of all of our time. We aren't Bioware employees, man. We do this for fun, and I sure as hell don't want to dig into Bioware's code to start "figuring out" Dev Crit.
No thanks.

Sorry if I sounded cranky there (I just re-read my post and decided I can't post things on here when I first wake up in the morning, haha...I'm a grouch when I wake up). But yeah, creating a whole system for Dev Crit would be very time consuming, and in the long run, pretty useless when you think about it. Instead, we are going to simply disable the feat, which in turn will allow for us to open up enemies to criticals, meaning critical attacks have much more purpose, so to speak. Trust me, it is going to be a good thing. By the way, thanks for all of your input, Blood. It is good to get some ideas from players.

Bring your mage against my 30 con and 1k hp dwarf and i bet you get my foot in your arse at the end of it. Spell resis amongst other things are easy mage repelants. But just in my experience so far i dont see much of a balance issue. But then i havent gone up against a pure 40th lvl wiz yet.

I would love too!!! Challenge accepted! To be honest i couldnt tell you if ill win, im just a hp tank that can take hits all day long. As long as i can use heal pots then ill just wait til your spells/buffs run out and ill be fine. Without heal pots is a whole different story. All depends on what spells you try and throw at me. But either way im only 35th lvl but i would love to just for the fun of it! And my con is 34 and hp's over 1000, so maximize, maximize, maximize! See you in the arena!
