i was just reading about how a few chars were unlucky enough to log in right before a reset and lose their persistent chests and was thinking, why not just have dms lock the door to the bank when they announce a reset?
that way players who log in can't get into the bank and know that's the cue to leave. just a thought

Don't think that would work without some additional scripting by Funky, as clicking on the pedestal basically DM force-unlocks the doors if no one is in there. However, a DM simtools command to lock the doors and disable the pedestals might be worthwhile, if Funky deems it so.

Not worth trying to prevent, when ample warning and minimal attentiveness can prevent the problem. Funky

Then anyone in the chest would be unable to close it. Again, it just isn't worth the time to script something complex enough to deal with all the issues when a dab of caution can prevent the problem. Funky
