Pretty sure some of the people in the "group" didn't know they were a part of a formal group requiring their own forums lol.... I know Delf will party with just about anybody even when she knows the group's chances aren't that great. I know many of them and those I know are very nice people. I will say this. Most the people listed generally play a time of day that is incompatible with a lot of HGer schedules. A lot of them can't hack constantly starting runs at 10 pm EST. You can't blame them for wanting stick with a group that both successful and doesn't run them into constantly staying up until the sun comes up just to tag a character.

I can appreciate those who like to party with those they are most familiar with...especially in Hell. I think the problem many have is the exclusionary attititude of Nicnik's post.

hiya, sorry for sounding as if i'm alienating other people.
The thing is for the past month or 2 I've been partying with the same 5-7 people day in day out and it's become natural to have a run for around 9-10pm gmt. Hence I called it "the usual" party.
Perhaps I should have rephrase the post and the subject, but I do not know how it can be posted to not offend anyone. The idea of the post was to gather the players I play with allot, since last night we finished malad and there wasnt any mention on cania that i recall, I thought I'd do the quicker option of posting on forum to see who can come, and of course give them priority and reserve their places. And as always there will be spots open for anyone else who wishes to join for the tag.
This post allowed me to know Delf isn't available, and perhaps let the 3-4 other people who joined our cania tonight to join for their tag.
I did not know or expect it wil offend anyone by using the party scheduling forum to actually schedule a run for set people; rather than the usual post for signing up.
Guess I wont be posting any more runs like this then.
Grats to those who got the tag btw.

Stone I think you and a few others are reading way too much into it bud.
We just completed the run, hey amazingly it had several people who are not part of "the group".
If you had put your name down and came along before the posts you might have found that out.
11 were there, one dropped (thx for doing that Enrith) to allow another person who wanted to do the run and get tag. In summary, Nic posted in a very relaxed way that could be read badly I agree. However the intention was good as he was really notifying others about spaces, does it matter that he wants to party with 5 friends in that group?
If people have a beef about this, then it just ends up that the relaxed way of organising runs and just saying "hey bunch of friends running together but a few spots open to others" will probably stop as its just not worth the hassle.
There are many who party with us several times a week, but you cant invite 300 to a 10 party run and then turn away 291. So all please remember there is no exclusion just Nic wanting to make sure the expectation was set without disappointments for those turning up.
Looking forward to doing runs with you all. Cheers Lala

I just wanted to reiterate since I started this whole kefluffal that I completely understand and have no problem with the concept of posting here and stating that you have X number of friends you want to save spots for. It was only a poor choice of words that came across as condescending.
I did levels 4 thru 9 of the Hells with the same 10 people and had a blast doing it. It took longer organizing 10 peoples schedules than ad hoc parties would have but it felt like a great accomplishment in the end and I am glad we did it.
Sorry for stirring the pot lets not let this get to 7 pages of bickering and sore feelings. 'Fang

I admit I prefer to play with those mentioned, and serveral others not mentioned from a starting to get large pool of nice and skilled players. Most of which are in my timezone, so we meet almost every night and have become a nice adventure group playing with a light and friendly tone, and a common understanding in how the others play their classes, so EVERY (~100% success, except some Nessus experiments that failed in the beginning) run is fullfilled perfectly.
Saying that, I dont mind taking new players deep into Hells, as long as they ASK when not sure what to do, listen to advice, and actually do what we tell them they should do. Thats at least how to earn my respect, and how I behaved back when I was a newbie.
I dont really keep a blacklist, but I HATE playing with 'new' people who dont have a clue and think they know everything, ignoring advice, and misplaying their character endangering the entire run. Helping such people getting tagged at all annoys me, as they didnt deserve the tag, nor the typical 1. place they roll in loot. Lucky for me, I rarely end up in such groups.

Seems to me that if all the people who posted a reply complaining about Nicnic's post actually got together for a Cania run you would have a fairly decent group of toons and a fairly decent chance of getting ya tags, just go do the runs yourselves. This is a party game and who he parties with is up to him isn't it?
Ya'll made ya point, is there really any need to keep on about it?

No more posts in this thread unless it's group memebers organizing the run, please. Thanks, Funky
