Hello,
The McFob nation is now ready to become a guild, we have plenty more than 4 players, and the required gold, and we have voted for the most excellent gameworld of Path of Ascension. We would like our guild to be called The McFob Nation, or just plain McFobs, or, as the F and O and B stand for in McFob, THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE BASEMENT. From what I understand, Funky said we could not be the McFobs, so there are some alternative names.
A little about the McFobs:
We are a group who all became friends playing on the World of Amon NWN gameworld. The McFobs were roleplayed as a bunch of drunken rowdies of all races and classes who were particularly good at war. Here is a little story about how the McFobs came to be, based on the Amon rp. Of course, we would alter this rp background to PoA so it fits in appropriately:
One cold winter night, several of the McFob nation gathered in McFob's tavern, trying to keep off the chill by downing a few ales and such and warming their hands by the fire. The tavern was relatively quiet for being so full of McFobs, until the low murmurs were interrupted by the slurred shout of young Grog McFob....
Grog: Awwww, come on Ma, tell usss one mer time, tell us de story!
Fenar: 'ey now, Momma it mighty tired, she been on her feet all day, and de bunions must be hurtin her somethin fierce....
Beldishere: Ah, pity, the story is a fine one, brothers and sisters....
Fenar: Aye, aye, tis true...
Grady: Maybe another prune juice stinger might put Mom in the mood fer a story?
Malice, throwing some coins on the bar in front of Kenny: Buy the old bag her drink, maybe it'll shut her up!
Mother: oh, you youngins, ye never tire of hearin The Story, lemme see if I remember it correctly......
Mother, clearing her voice:
During the great battle of the Pent and the Ratharians, many pods from both vessels scattered about the great Osirian deserts, and, as we all know, Solomak took it upon himself to gather and stockpile these pods of hibernating survivors. Most of the pods Solomak gathered were intact, however, a miniscule number had defects or damage sustained in the great battle or en route to the planets surface after the destruction. Knowing they may still contain life, Solomak could not bring himself to simply destroy these pods, so he took to packing them away separate from the others, in a great cavern deep within his lair, that came to be known as the cavern of Broken Dreams, in reference to the broken pods that would never release their contents to life.
As countless years went by, soon the Cavern of Broken Dreams became forgotten and slipped into obscurity as the ages changed. Then, deep within the bowels of the planet, there occurred a tremor. Barely even noticeable on the surface, and hardly felt even in Solomak’s main chambers, the tremor caused a terrific rockslide within the Cavern of Broken Dreams. Many of the already damaged pods were crushed beneath tons of cavern rock, yet some of the pods were cracked open by the falling rock, and, miraculously, a few stunned and confused life forms emerged from their now open pods.
Soon, a small gathering of survivors huddled together in the dank dark ruins of the cavern. These were not ordinary pod hibernation folk. Perhaps it was the over extended time spent in hibernation, or the damage their pods had sustained, but these folk had a gleam in their eyes that told the story of wild lunacy. Alone and trapped, they formed an eternal bond with each other, and, upon the suggestion of a young female human survivor, they took up the name McFob, and the McFobs began the struggle to survive.
Being former servants who suddenly found themselves free from servitude, they agreed they would have no overlords, and each McFob would have an equal say in matters of their group. Having a wide variety of races, they agreed that no matter what race they were, a McFob was a McFob. And thus, the McFob family creed was lain in place.
For many years this new tribe eeked out an existence in the deep underworld far beneath the lair of Solomak. They fought for their lives in great battles against horrific denizens of the underworld, and scavenged what they could. In time, they set about excavating the remaining pods buried under the cavern rock, and, on occasion, they would rescue a new McFob brother or sister to join them. It was during this excavation that they uncovered the tunnel that led to the upper levels of Solomaks domain.
This discovery brought great excitement to the McFobs, along with great apprehension. They were uncertain as to how the great dragon would receive them, after all the years. A vote was called for, and it was decided they would journey to Solomak one at a time, here and there, and perhaps they would be able to blend in with the other hibernating pod inhabitants that were constantly being released by Solomak and his minions without being noticed. The ruse worked, and the McFobs soon found themselves breathing air in the city of Heija, where they gather to this day.
Fenar: Yup, dats the story!
Grog: Ah......a fine one indeed! *belch*
Malice: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

We hope to bring some small bit of roleplay to PoA, and encourage others to form other groups to do intergroup rp. If possible, we would like our guild house to be a Tavern, called McFobs Tavern of Broken Dreams. It might be noted that the McFobs are famous for doing a yearly donation drive to support our home gameworld, hopefully we will be able to do the same for PoA, we realize running a world is not free. I hope this sheds some light on what the McFobs are all about, for more info including how to join the McFobs, our website is
www.mcfob.com, and we look forward to exploring and gaming in PoA!
Yers,
Bubb
