Where is the advantage to the players to live in fear of PP except for one class to say they are "Roleplaying" their character??? By that reasoning I should be able to run around with a Pally detecting evil and killing any evil toons I come across.
I have yet to hear a compelling argument as to why PP should be allowed on the server besides PP the mobs of heals.

Ty, I am still a bit nervous after my persistant chest disappeared, for 3 weeks, then reappeared. That is enough for me rather be using player mules that chests. On top of that, chests have limited capacity, and you only get one. Forced to player mules is a difficult way to have to shuffle gear everytime you change gears into something new.
Keeping toons under 150 items is a challenge, as I find I am mostly hovering around 120.
I don't see why PP shouldn't at least be optional. I think you would get a true consensus of how the in game crowd feels by doing so, and seeing how many people leave themselves open to it.

PS- Ty, you have a PM

Well look at it this way. If there was no PP and someone ...lets say invaded the Mazes and would not leave.... gives you some lame excuse... like "i'm just mapping" and won't leave. What are you going to do sit there and wait while that guy holds up your party. If you PvP the guy he'd just get back up and jump into the nearest portal. If you PP him and then kill him and start PPing is corpse he knows you mean business. Plus, if someone logs dead out of fear for losing stuff they know when they come back on that server its fugue time.
I guess I felt negatively about PP the first time it happened to me, but I've grown to like it as an option.

I get this frequently in the maze too, these guys hide in the scry tool surprisingly mapping all the seal spawn spots...... What I usually do is get on the same floor, pop balls, and keep them up, effectively trapping the guy until he tps out.

Tyran What your suggesting is that everyone should put PP into their char and play in a way they may not want to. You know the simple solution to what your saying? Report them to a DM like everyone does with pictures posted. Personally I like the idea I put forward to changing PP to an item with unlimited use per day and basing the skill on class levels without Dex. Rogue skill would be Rogue levels (exclude legendary) Other pickpocket classes would be that class / 3 (exclude legendary) This would only apply to playing chars and not spawns.

1.) I never carry around items in my inventory outside of town I can afford to lose. The problem with that is the ring collection all LL lvl characters require, rings that are just a tremendous hassle to keep swapping if you keep them in the bank. Even if you do so, it's no defense anyway as most runs require two or three more rings (or other various pieces of spare equipment such as UR resistance boots) than you can wear at any given time. Second, what stops people from sitting in the wyrm and pping your bank after a run? Loot logging or stealing loot from a run is universally hated (and stealing loot from an area someone is using is against the rules) - what makes a person who uses pp to steal loot any different? Just because they claim it's roleplaying? Well a big hint to everyone outthere is to make sure you name your bank toon some thing other than, "Bob's Bank - UR items" When you have only one or two characters it may be possible to just name them random things, but when you have 17, orginization becomes a real concern. Additionally, it's not hard to figure out the names of a person's bank regardless of what they call them.

You could always use the subrace field for your bank's description.

Yes, I carry a minimum selection of rare rings with me (just not URs). I'd be annoyed if they were PP'd from me but they're something I can reasonably replace in a short amount of time or from my own stash, and if you can PP yourself there's a good chance you'll get the other persons stuff. For things like Bhallus Bane I leave them on a bank character until I know I'll be wearing them most of the time, because bank characters can't get PP'd in town. That way I cut down on the chances of losing them to player or even PPing monsters....which tends to be the bigger problem actually.
