Because taking the additional time to create quality descriptions for 1275 new items wasn't practical, we simply focused on properties and colorful names. I figured this would be a nice place for players to contribute if they wished, so... If you find a random item with no description, and think of a good description, post the name of the item and the description in this thread, and I'll add it next update. I reserve the right to reject a description due to excessive cheesiness, lack of effort, etc, though I won't be too picky. It does have to match, or at least not contradict, the items name. I will probably not change item names (save for typos), and I won't use specific player or character names in description unless they are well-conceived and non-obtrusive.

Do we get to give it a description if it just has the basic neverwinter nights description? Like If it said 'Gauntlets and bracers are worn as an addition to normal armor and do not provide improvements unless infused with magic.' Thats a standard nwn description, could we decide what to replace it with?

I've always wanted to contribute, but being on a Mac, I sometimes feel like a second class citizen. (no toolset, so no making stuff/areas/scripts)
Anyway, I'll do these in small batches over time, so you don't have to read long sections of text. Also, people keep ninja'ing the loot before I can write them down!
-- Shield of the Surrounded (tower shield, ac shield +4, con +4)
Only 300 of these shields were ever made. The Wizard Thermo Pylea felt that was all that was needed to protect his warriors, who were then supposed to protect him. They worked so well, that both Thermo and his warriors grew cocky; leading to the famous exchange: "Our arrows shall blot out the sun!" "Fine, then we shall fight in the shade."
The shields that turn up from time to time have numerous patches in them from very small holes.
-- Yvers Combatant (small shield, ac shield +3, saving throw +3, discipline +3)
The world little recalls the Halfling Rebellion in Yver; whether due to deliberate suppression of memory, or the disbelief that such a thing could ever occur. The notion of the small folk fighting, let alone defeating a dictator's well-trained hobgoblin and human shock troops seems ridiculous.
But the Free People of Yver recall. "Hard work makes your luck a shield to stand behind." is a saying that is said there, often while polishing a gleaming (and well honed) short sword.
-- Ardent Flame (cloak, ac deflection +3, fire resist 10/-, char +3)
With her long red hair and startling green eyes, everyone knew that Flavia Ardent was special. Her voice was ethereal and magical, entrancing all who heard it; those that could tear themselves from her beauty that is.
So the cries of disappointment were great indeed when she began to appear in public swathed in a brilliant crimson cloak. "How can we admire your beauty now, when those flames seem so real we must shade our eyes?!" But Flavia merely smiled and sang another song from beneath her cloak.
On the night her Grandmother died, she appeared at the funeral and sang her most enchanting song yet. At the climax of the dirge, she swept the fire cloak onto her grandmother's bier, which burst immediately into flame.
She then spread her new wings, as red as her hair, and flew into the sky; leaving the cloak she had no more use for behind.

Well, since you liked those, here are some more gathered in a session of solo looting.
-- Brawny Baffle (cloak, ac deflect +2, sonic 10/-, str +1)
This cloak is thick and surprisingly well padded. The rows of fine stitching define row upon row of absorbtive material, which deaden sound most effectively. A dweamor laid upon the fabric helps the wearer deal with what could be an uncomfortably heavy garment.
The absorbtive material is also quite handy for soaking up the conmmon fluids an adventurer is likely to encounter, leading some to call this the "Quicker Picker-Upper Cloak."
-- Teldars Dilemma (ring, Ac Deflect +2, SR 12)
Teldar was a wizard of only middling magical ability, but of awesome logical powers. He constructed an argument of dizzying complexity that refined the proper response to any common hazard to a series of simple counteractions. He then created a set of common magical items, that, individually were unremarkble; but together made him nigh unto indestructable to any conceivable peril.
This ring is the sole remaining item after Teldar was devoured (in a completely illogical and unforeseeable fashion) by 2 small lemmas from both the positive AND negative planes. His items summed over the threats, and left Teldar defenseless.
-- Hairy Boots (boots, haste, halfling or gnome only)
"What are you savages doing? Merciful heavens, what is that? Oh, sweet Yondalla, that's a SAW! Oh no! No! I beg you, please not my f...!"
-Last words of a halfling captive of the Grnp Kobold clan, fmaed for their innovations in fashion and footwear.
-- The Generalist (necklace, all skills +2)
Commonly mistaken as "THE Generalist", the true name of this chain is "General Ist's". Ist was a military man who prized competence above all other attributes, and preferred competence in all things. His troops were issued this special chain to hang their dogtags on, so that, in his words "At least they'll be good at SOMETHING."
Despite his emphasis on rigorous training, most of General Ist's troops had low morale and performed poorly, mostly due to General Ist.
-- Beastly Bonds (bracer, regen +2)
They say when the moon shines bright and things are known to stalk the night and there must be one to set things right-
Don these chains of monstrous urge feel the strength within you surge let the beast and you be merged-
Wear them not, when the moon shines not! Leave them off, when the light is off! Let them be, when the darkness gleams-
Or the hunter shall be hunted by the beast that hunted beasts.

If you have a list of items that you'd especially like done, you can send it to me.

Thanks! Added these to next update. I'm afraid I don't have a list, and it'd be pretty difficult to make one, but I'll give it a shot. None in particular I have in mind, so the list would just be all the items needing descriptions. Thanks again! Funky

Zhentrim Cloak (+10, may be others)
"Why do we wear black? Simple. Fear. Intimidation. Everyone we deal with, the peasants, the merchants, and all the other sheep need to know that WE are the bad guys."
- (Insert name of the captain from Zhent Base here)

Ive got a couple - ---- Yoshi Makai
These Katana were named for where they were created, in the human outpost of Yoshi from the long forgotten realm of Makai, a harsh plane where both daemons and man struggled to survive. The weapon strengthens and hones itself the more it is used in combat - possibly the explanation of the ancient battle cry "My sword shall feast on your flesh." ---- Boots of the Noble Acid Born
Crafted for those who could trace their lineage to the Acid Mother, a Green Dragon who was said to have mastered baric powers from captured adventurers. As the blood line weakened with each human descendant of the Acid Mother, powerful armor was created to assist these descendants - now shadows of their former glory. ---- Chain Shirt +9 and others
In the youth of the clerical arts, healers learned how to set broken bones easily, but could not counter an infection or poison left by a bladed weapon. Thus Mail armor was invented - although woefully inadequate against blunt weapons, it staved off the plight feared by most warriors - dying away from the battlefield from infection. The freedom of movement it grants over plate style armors ensures its popularity to modern day. ---- Xitachyl's ruin +8 and others
Some believe these belts were created by the wizards of Xitach swamp, which allowed them to wage countless wars on their neighbors, that eventually decimated their land. Others believe this was worn by one of the adventurers who defeated the Ancient Dragon Xitachyl'az'ichityl'xitahl, mother of the dragon Dach'xilith'az'ichityl. Regardless, these belts are highly sought after by powerful wizards. ---- Frost Anchor
A shield of choice for many of the Arctic Dwarves in the wastes, especially the Dwarven Defenders who protect the mines and mountain towns. ---- Staff of Valentar
Valentar, like most powerful sorcerers, developed a disdain for others and eventually shunned all human contact after his power grew to godlike levels. However, the occasional need for reagents and supplies would force him to travel to the nearby town of Farean. Little is known of the rogue who was able to steal Valentar’s staff while he visited Farean - since Farean now stands empty; its buildings rubble-filled craters and its residents scattered bones. ---- Thanks!

Wail (light flail) Appropriatly named, as it was once a favorite tool of Tuckus Bloodfinger, a famous executioner for the Shadown Theives of Amn. It was lost to the legends after its origional owner met his unfortunate end, ironically being hanged in the town square for failure to pay taxes.
Preserved Balor Hand (misc item) This unique and somewhat grotesque hand is from what you would assume to be a balor, not that you've spent a whole lot of time looking at balor hands...
Vitters Velocity (ring) "What the... Where is that confounded halfling now?" "I'm sorry mistress. We keep increasing the security but somehow he manages to get by even our best trained guards."
Drachen Robe, Boots, Belt, etc. (mage equipment found in Rips) Origionally, this was the standard equipment of a rouge group of mages ascociated with the study of dragons and their incredibly stong natural connecion to magic. Naturally, the dragons where not very pleased to have men metteling with their type. So for the first time in known history, several dragons united to stop the rapid threat of the mortals upon the very spirit of dragons. However, because of the sucsessful research of the guild, even a union of dragons could not hope to openly defeat them. It is not known how the union finally overcame the group of mages, the only remains that where even remotly functionable where these gew articles of slothing. Presumably the dragons did not see them as much of a threat when compaired to some of the other items posessed by the mages. Whatever the case may be, the articles where recovered and are now mass produced and can not even hold a candle to the power of the origionals.
